Betaboys Bring Back New Wave Pop With "So Shy"
Betaboys just dropped a brand new single and it shines with a fusion of post punk, new wave, and pop rock and all with a touch of pink undertone and a colorful edge that really works.
"So Shy" is loaded with raw energy, retro synth hooks, and plenty of guitar lines that bring to mind bands like The Strokes and Duran Duran with that vintage sheen over everything.
The song has a vibrant and extremely danceable tonality and really serves well for a party but also has that alternative feel that is always peeking through.
The song is completely addictive and it's obvious these guys know how to write a chorus that sticks with you for hours or even days as this one does.
The actual energy of this song is infectious and I'd suggest starting your day with Betaboys cause it's sure to get you in a great mood as the song is fun to listen to and has a ton of drive behind it.
The band has a knack for nailing the aesthetic they want and you can literally hear how much of a good time they had creating this song.
It actually almost has a live feel to it as the band seems to feed off of each other on the track.
This track is 100% sure to feed your need for nostalgia in all the right ways and there is absolutely a ton of heart that went into this song.
"So Shy" is part of the bands ramping up for their EP release coming this May and we can only hope we hear more of what we do now from Betaboys.
I have a feeling they won't let us 80's kids down though.
Thanks to these guys for breathing new life into new wave music again and doing it with love.
