Get Washed Away With Tristan Welch
The new EP release from Tristan Welch is a major cinematic and digitally ethereal soundscape that reaches deep down deep enough to feel it in your gut.
Ambient Distress is a series of musical pieces that blend both sharp and airy synth pads and sounds to create a world of its own.
The aesthetic of this EP borders on films like Blade Runner with massive sonic waves crashing around you in the most soothing way you can imagine.
This wondrously orchestrated record is clearly the artists way of touching on not only his own fears, stresses, and anxiety, but others as well.
The EP is a bit of a statement on the state of the world and what people are feeling at the moment. But it's all transformed and transposed into a gorgeous whirling set of sounds that wash you away with them.
An amazing record to think with. A long drive or a night of alone both work well for soaking this one in. '
There are those vintage synth feels that give off a slight retro feel along with its powerful representation of turning emotion into pure sound. You can almost see the dim lit neon lined cityscape when you close your eyes.
There is also a peacefulness you feel at certain points of the EP that give you a feeling of resolve.
This is a vibrant set of tracks that really dig in and let you feel what you want.
Once it's over, you will need to snap yourself out of it, but I think that's something we may all need.
