A Fresh EP from AGELESS Breeds Vintage and New Sounds

11375-ageless---different-scenery-17634150482799.jpg

Ageless returns with a full EP that dips into all kinds of vintage cultural, vinyl classics, utilizing brilliant samples with updated, sharp, and fat synthesizers, blending and bending genres that free will, creating robust atmospheres and heavy-handed grooves non-stop.

Different Scenery showcases its funky, groove structure with its first track, "No Heart At All", which we have already had the privilege of reviewing as a single and was super fun and packed full, but this track does an outstanding job of opening the door for the rest of the record.

The second track, 'Blind Spot", really gives off an even heavier vibe. The track hits hard with deepening beats and utilizes some classic samples with horns, gospel, and soulful vocals right from the get-go, bringing together the two elements of old and new school approaches, which is the heart of how this record works.

Ageless is a producer that thrives off of bringing those vintage tones and samples into such a current feel and soundscape.

This track brings big synthesizers to an almost dubstep effect, bringing in breakbeat, trap, and a little bit more, also taking into consideration the background of the track and being able to fill the space with something that lines up with the melodies the samples are giving off.

The synth pads in the backing of this track really add a bigger atmosphere to everything. I mentioned in my original review for "No Heart At All", the first track on the record, that it seems like the producer takes some samples that he really falls in love with and builds around those, creating these diverse and very unique aesthetics.

Well, this is true for a lot of the rest of the EP as well.

"The Other Side" shows a bit more of an experimental side of the production approach, with a rambunctious feel, a little bit of craziness, and the whole thing just feels wild, slightly scattered, but all fit in place perfectly.

This one has a unique sonic presence to it and really takes you for a ride.

Probably the most experimental piece of the record, I feel like this song sits firmly in the middle of the record to showcase a bit of a change in direction.

The record does change direction a little bit from there, but still keeps those main staples and heart of the record in place firmly.

Always utilizing killer samples and building around them to just create something all its own.

One of my favorite tracks on the record is the last track, called "Free Expression", because it is perfectly outside the box.

I feel like this track, in particular, exemplifies how Ageless creates and produces with no walls built around him.

This is a record that is packed with surprises and always keeps you on your toes, in a sense.

It was thriving with relentless energy and unique color, flavor, and flair, and his signature approach through and through.

This is all part of what makes this record so special and why it stands out so far.

All of these tracks are bangers and blend electronic genres in a way that feels refreshing.

It feels almost like some of the record is improvised at times, and he just went with the flow, while others feel extremely planned out.

Either way, this is a producer and artist who pays a lot of attention to Arrangement and composition. He's able to really create and build something that has highs and lows, takes you on great musical journeys, and gives you waves of intensity.

You can hear that he's pulling from a ton of influences and I think that's part of why the release hits so hard.

This is definitely an EP worth listening to all the way through, from start to finish.

You can expect some of the unexpected, and again, it will keep you on your toes, and the best way is possible.

Some of the breaks are awesome, the blending of synthesizers and vintage tones is outstanding a lot of the time, and this is a whole different world.

The EP just dropped via Grand Alliance Music, which is an unreal label that specializes in unifying all the corners of electronic music and natural love for the craft of creating pieces of music that are unique in their own way.

If you dig this record, you should check out more from the label.

Dive into this one now so you can see exactly what I mean and turn it up.
