Ageless Drops A New Single That Crosses Vintage With Fresh Approaches
The new single release from Ageless just dropped, and this track brings together such funk momentum along with edgy overtones and classic samples to the point where the blending and mending of old vintage sounds with this much newer, in-your-face, slightly edgier, electronic feel and aesthetic has such a great sound overall.
The track takes elements of glitch, trap, a sort of neuro-funk, and dubstep, but it's really the ability to create something that feels almost nostalgic while having this fresh approach that grabs you.
Throughout the track, you have these elements that are like string sections coming in, bringing more of the classic soundscape into the new platform, and the more that this happens, the more you get engulfed in it. It's such a unique blend, and it's amazing how they flow together so seamlessly.
But, I suppose that's where a lot of the talent comes in with producers like Ageless.
Throughout the synths and heavy-handed sort of beats, old and new school aesthetics, and more, you also have these amazing additional percussion and sound effects that come in and out throughout the song and are sort of peppered throughout it all, along with what feel almost like classic Hammond keys that fill any spaces, so you have this massively lush and very full-bodied sound throughout this entire thing.
It's also invasively danceable. You cannot withhold yourself from moving your body to this track. That's part of the point. This is a track that brings the groove.
Horns, fat keys and synthesizers, vocals that are soulful and gospel feeling, strings, and all of these additional elements and production approaches are what bring this song to life.
It's completely vivacious, tons of attitude, and comes at you with this bright feel that just keeps getting brighter.
It's a colorful but still somewhat edgy track that feels sort of cutting-edge, in a sense.
I love listening to a song like this because not only does it feel somewhat nostalgic because of all the vintage tonalities and samples, but the whole thing is spirited.
The energy level comes across with such a heavy hand that it is very infectious and doesn't waste much time getting straight to the point, either.
As the song plays through, it gets bigger with more and more instrumentation coming into play, giving things a fuller feel, and there are elements of this song that feel like it's either a guitar or it's a synthesizer that has some distortion or amp simulation effect on it.
This is the kind of thing that showcases how Ageless is a bit of a sound Sculptor along with everything else.
Ageless is Wesley Paioff, a Pittsburgh-based instrumentalist and producer who is very well known for bringing the nostalgic and vintage elements in with the new school approaches and effects.
This track will wrap itself around you quickly. It'll have you dancing, grooving, and sort of left in awe of how the artist can blend aesthetics so well.
Even with all the additional synths, keys, it doesn't lose any of the vibrancy or heavy-handed groove. It builds on it.
This is a producer and artist who is amazing at building on vintage sounds so that they grow in different directions but never lose the heart of what it's all about.
I think that is vastly important. He's inspired by those classic and old school vinyl record style tracks and can infuse those into his music or even use them to build off of so that you have something so refreshing and robust, boisterous, and addictive, you just can't turn away from it.
I love the entire approach on this, and you can tell there was a lot of attention to detail on the final product, the mix, and how the aesthetic was supposed to come through.
He worked on the tonalities of the instrumentation that he built the song with, and how those would intertwine with the vintage tones of the original samples he's using.
So, there's a lot of thought behind all of this.
This was a total banger and I absolutely loved it. As far as I can tell, this is the first single off of an upcoming full EP from the producer that is also set to release a little later this month.
I have yet to dip into that one, but I'm definitely going to do so and will be writing about it as well when it releases or shortly after.
As of right now, its release date is set for November 14th and will be dropped via Grand Alliance Music.
If you're unfamiliar with Grand Alliance Music, take a moment to get familiar with it. This is a great track to open the door to all of that with.
Dive in with this single and then spend some time on the Grand Alliance website, where you can really dig deep into tons, and I mean tons of amazing releases.
