A New Record from AITA is an Alt-Rock Opus

A new album release from AITA has a wonderful way of delivering a crossover of pop punk and driving alternative rock. Still, it's all done with this thriving character and personality, which is one of the biggest things you end up getting attached to right from the get-go.
The Promises album is packed with infectious, powerful, and edgy guitar work, along with pounding drumming that adds tons of drive and helps the songs really push the envelope.
Things kick off really well with the first track, "Beyond Summer", which is a belting and anthemic track and does an incredible job of introducing the record simply because this song boasts some of the staples that you will hear throughout the album.
Having said that, this is not the kind of record that you just listen to a few tracks and then let go of. Listening to one or two songs will give you a good idea of what you might expect, but will not give you the full spectrum of what the album has to offer as a whole, and this is important.
There are plenty of surprises around the corners, inventive and slightly outside-the-box guitar work, and all of it is pop-coated.
This record is catchy as hell and still has this closed-fisted, hands-in-the-air, edginess and energy that feels electric.
That's another thing. The whole album has this crazy energy where it feels like a lot of it was recorded live on the floor, and the band was feeding off of each other throughout the record.
Of course, I wasn't there, so I don't know if that's actually true but either way, listening to this record makes you want to see them live simply because if they can capture that kind of energy and aesthetic on record this well, then seeing them live would be awesome.
One of my favorite tracks on the record is called "Out of Reach" and serves as one of those tracks I mentioned earlier that has some surprises around its corners. This is one of the biggest and most robust choruses on the record in my opinion, and it's got such an open-ended and forward-moving flow to it that it's completely addictive.
I love their influences because they bring in these little hints of other Rock genres like classic rock, grunge, and more, along with that pop punk and alternative rock overtone.
They do a great job of sort of genre-bending from song to song, but still keeping to their roots.
There are also tracks with really particular and outside-the-box time signatures and crazy refs that really sort of blow your mind when you first hear the track. Songs like "Suffocating" are an absolutely perfect example of exactly that.
The riff on this one reminds me of an early 2000s heavy alt-rock style you'd hear on the radio.
So, they do really well in terms of blending Aesthetics that have underground feels but also really mainstream radio radio-friendly styles as well.
All of this is built into the record, and this is also part of why listening to it from beginning to end is so imperative here.
There are plenty of layers and textures, powerhouse bangers, and more throughout this record, and you don't want to miss them.
Vocally, this is outstanding. The lead singer knows how to control her voice and get either subtle or insanely intense when she wants to, as well as layering gorgeous harmonies in the background that make songs have vast, thick undertones.
The whole record was just ridiculous, and if you're a fan of soulful, edgy, hard-hitting, alternative rock, then this record is 100% for you, and you certainly will not be let down one iota.
This album hit me perfectly and I soaked it in with a smile on my face the whole damn time simply because they gave it everything. This is a record that's got heart strewn across it.
This is a band with a real love for their craft, and when I say that, I don't just mean playing their instruments or singing. I mean writing songs together that have impact and feel amazing to listen to.
If you don't believe me, just play the record for yourself. You'll see what I mean.
