ARVØW Delivers a Vast and Flowing Single
A single release from ARVØW delivers a lush and expansive soundscape that can really wrap itself around you and let you get engulfed by all the textures and layers of sounds that are happening.
"Subliminal" is an electronic track that blends in elements of breakbeat, hints of jungle at times, and even EDM but it also has its own approach, and along with that comes this vast undertone that adds so much depth to the track itself that you end up falling into a sort of trance while listening to it.
I love the beat of this track because it reminds me of certain kinds of tracks from the late 90s in the electronic world and for some reason, this track gave me little bouts of nostalgia here and there.
It's the robust but still sort of calming soundscape of everything that really takes you away from your surroundings and puts you in a different place altogether and throughout the unfolding of the song you find yourself drifting in your mind to different places, visualizations, and scenarios.
It was all very beautifully woven and put together, the way the track expands and sort of has this alive and breathing feeling to it is quite beautiful and it can really put you at peace in a certain kind of way.
It's a drifting and floating kind of feeling that it gives me and as it all happened I went right along with it and it felt great.
One of the things I love about this track is how it actually puts together several different subgenres of electronic music into one space and how it feeds into your mind almost like reading a book in a sense.
You get this sort of emotion and texture from the song but there is space left for your imagination to fill the gaps and that's exactly what this does.
There were even times during this track where memories of my own popped into my head at random and I wondered why those memories came to light during certain parts of the song.
This was not only peaceful but it was a little bit experimental and I like how wet and full-bodied it came through while still keeping to this sort of warm sonic drive that lets you float alongside it.
The whole track was gorgeous and the choice of synth and key textures and sounds helped push this to where it needed to be but that's all part of being a good producer and songwriter.
Knowing how to balance your sounds in the mix, knowing what sounds to use to get the aesthetic that you're looking for, and putting something into the world that every person will soak in a little differently than from the next.
What I mean is, that one person can hear this song and it could have a whole different meaning for them than it does when a different person hears it.
But because you have this beautiful sonic soundscape that swims around in the air that surrounds you, you're able to connect with it and I think that's part of the beauty of a song like this.
There was something also sort of freeing about this track. It felt electronic but also open and breezy in a way and that's part of the calming effect that it has.
The layers of synths and keys work wonders and it came through with a sort of colorfulness along with that vastness in its underbelly.
Notes strewn through the ether of the song gave it depth and held onto that subtle drive.
This was a perfect example of a producer and an artist who knows how to create an amazing dynamic balance musically and have the aesthetic of the song come through exactly the way it was meant to.
This was a wonderful song that took me on a little bit of a musical journey and served as a bit of an escape for me as well which I can appreciate.
I would most certainly suggest listening to this track with a pair of headphones on because it's one of the best ways to soak it in.
Dive into this one when you can and see what it does for you. See where it takes you.
