A Massive EP Release from AXIOMA

A new release from Axioma is quite a unique one. The EP focuses on an outstanding live performance that was done and filmed during the solar eclipse. This piece of work is massive, sonically driving, extensive, and spans almost 14 minutes in length. And this is just the first track on the record.
The release is called Live Totalily EP and that first piece of music and video is the title track. This was written specifically for that live performance on the solar eclipse and it is intense to see the very least.
This piece alone goes through so many different progressions, outstanding riffs, waves of intensities and vast undertones, and so many surprises that when that 14 minute song is over, you're just kind of blown away.
As the single unfolds and they do their thing, you can see the scene getting darker and darker from that solar eclipse and it works so perfectly.
I love the idea behind this and the fact that they pulled it off at the exact right time was outstanding.
This is the kind of stuff that bands don't usually push for but these guys put it all together, wrote a piece of music that was long enough to span the eclipse itself from light to dark, and they started it at the exact right time.
For me to think of how much planning and preparation that must have taken is hard to wrap my head around.
This is no ordinary piece of music. It is a progressive metal and hardcore style song but it brings in all kinds of other sub genres and elements of different heavy rock music throughout its course.
One of the best ways to listen to this track for the first time is by watching this video.
It's an intense and amazing track on its own too but if you watch the video while you listen you get the vibe and the aesthetic that it's meant to give off in its totality. See what I did there?
There are three more singles on this record and they run the normal 5 minutes except for what I would call a cinematic interlude performed mostly on guitar that sits in the middle.
This is a great sort of breather before the final banger of a track on the record and the whole thing just came together with so much attention to detail but never without that heart or that love for the crap that you can hear flowing through the veins of this entire band and project.
There are definitely a lot of heavy-handed and gritty sort of tones that come from the bass guitars and the guitars themselves along with some fierce vocals and drums that are absolutely slamming so the entire thing has such a drive to it that you can't turn away.
Along with all that, you have this great melodic underbelly that comes in and out and you can tell that these guys each have different influences that they bring to the plate creating this whole kind of atmosphere that you fall right into and get engulfed by.
The thing is, it feels great to get engulfed by this record.
I think that is what it's meant for. This is like an escape from your own reality and it does pull you away from wherever you are and whatever you're doing and put you in their world for a good chunk of time.
Even if you only take the time to watch and listen to the title track for 14 minutes, you will be pulled into their atmosphere and this is something you don't get often so when you come across it, it's very refreshing in my opinion.
I think we need more bands like Axioma simply because they put so much into what they're creating. So much thought and preparation, amazing performances, and a thriving soundscape that wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to.
This EP, if you can call it that, is more like an experience.
I miss records that provide experiences the way this one does.
At any rate, definitely watch the video, which is embedded below of course, and then listen to the rest of the record because it's awesome.
This is something that is a little outside the box but works perfectly.
Dive into this and see how it affects you.
