"Blue Orchid" Cover From Beast Parade
This is most certainly the video to watch whenit comes to getting some backdrop on covering a song like "Blue Orchid" (White Stripes).
Beast Parade approaches this whole thing with some care and the video shows more than just the song itself.
"When Tim and I heard Jack and Meg were being inducted in to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the class of 2025, we knew we had to cover one of their tunes to commemorate the event. We also had to finish out the unintentional color-based series of covers we had going (Black Keys, Pink Floyd. and Red Fang).
Why Blue Orchid? It’s always been my favorite of their tunes. I love Jack’s falsetto vocal with that reverse echo, that raw, fuzzed out octave guitar is just crushing, and it has kind of a…. creepier vibe than most of their material which appeals to us. They clearly picked up that creepy ball and ran with it based on their music video. That all said, we of course couldn’t play it down the middle, and took a completely different approach to our interpretation!" - Beast Parade
