A New Single from Beyond Lines
A new single release from Beyond Lines delivers a refreshing pop approach that has an emotional backbone and drive, along with a progressive build to it that reaches a climactic point and has this sort of uplifted and almost inspiring underbelly to it because the track delves into a sort of inner struggle and the realization of the want to actually break free of those struggles. At least, that's how I took it.
"Down" is a track that is very personal indeed and the lyrics have a way of pulling you in to the point where you completely relate to a lot of the things that are being explained throughout the track.
I thoroughly enjoyed the song mostly because of how articulate the lyrics were in terms of being so honest and so upfront with letting those inner feelings and struggles out.
At times it felt like this must have been cathartic to write and release because it was so personal and so honest.
The person who's listening to the song will really understand where everything is coming from. It almost feels like the song was written just for you even though you know it wasn't. That's how relatable it is, and again, this has a lot to do with how he words the song.
This track was expansive and had a bit of a vast undertone but it also had a big pop coating especially on the forefront so it was hooky and sort of catchy with inventive synths and a great build to it so that it progressed perfectly.
The synth and key tones were amazing and the whole thing felt a bit cinematic to me honestly.
I love a track that can wrap itself around you and keep you right where it wants to both musically and lyrically and this song did both perfectly.
Just the understanding of wanting to break free of the chains that you set for yourself is such an important aspect of life and a lot of us do experience that but we also don't know how to articulate that into words let alone words and music so when you listen to this song you immediately connect with it.
Well, I connected with it. But, I think anyone that's human and of a certain age can also connect with it as well.
This track falls into an indie pop category for me but it also has elements of dream pop and dynamic balance of color and edginess as well.
It's that emotional aspect that blends with the music that works for this song.
The vocal approach is like the nail in the coffin. The way the singing is performed has this sort of soul or heart to it.
It's not belted super loud but it's also not soft either. It's somewhere right in the middle and it has a passion behind it that makes everything authentic.
You immediately know this came from someplace real and that this was the only way the artist was able to get it off of his chest.
To me, this is what true art is all about. Creating songs that do actually have catchiness and hooks to them but also are still created with fewer boundaries than the norm in a way.
This was a pop song but it wasn't meant to be created for any kind of social agenda or conformity. It's not there to fall into a specific genre or to be pushed to the masses so to speak.
This was created because it needed to be created by the artist.
This is part of what makes it so genuine and also makes it so relatable.
A beautiful track with a lot of layers that are fun to peel back as you listen, check out "Down" as soon as you can and listen to it with headphones on because it's one of the best ways to soak in everything that's happening in this song textually.
See how this one affects you.
