Bicentennial Drug Lord Have A New Single

The latest single from Bicentennial Drug Lord delivers a thriving rock soundscape that blends classic punk with classic rock damn near perfectly and as it all unfolds you get this amazing story to follow which is one of the tracks strongest attributes above all else simply because you get pulled into that almost straight away.
"Iggy Pop" is the track that bears some of that classic punk rock vibe that comes from influences from the '80s and '90s, which gives me a warm and nostalgic feeling, to be honest.
The progression and guitar tone are classic and driving but never over the top; however, the song builds into these great choruses that almost feel anthemic at times.
I can't express enough how you follow the life of this person throughout this track. The way the lyrics depict the story is outstanding. The words are articulated like you're reading a book, and this is so strong because not only does it put you into the story, but it also lets you picture things in your head as the song unfolds.
The chorus of this track is absolutely huge. It's robust and has character, but then again, the entire track has that character's tale, so it comes back to that and how the music does the job of almost setting the mood for the story.
There's something warm and almost welcoming about this track as well. The tonalities of the guitar, organs, and that vintage classic rock drive really do wonders.
There is such a realness to this story. I feel like it came from someone the vocalist knew, and he decided to write a song about her.
Of course, obviously, I could be completely wrong about that, and he might have just made it all up, but either way, you do get pulled into the story of it all, and the band does such a great job of keeping everything dynamically balanced while still rocking out.
It's almost like a cross between Social Distortion and Bruce Springsteen.
I know that sounds crazy, but you have to listen to the song to get what I mean.
It combines those kinds of elements that let the story be told, but also portrays that classic rock underbelly while having the punk rock edge as well.
Mike Ness of Social Distortion is an amazing storyteller as well, which also pushes that feeling.
Either way, this was an outstanding single and certainly speaks volumes for the band and how they can bring in a slew of influences to create something that feels not only nostalgic but meaningful and has some depth to it.
There's also a great energy between every member of the band to the point where it gives off the vibe of a live performance in a sense.
As far as we can tell, this single will be part of an LP set to be released this summer, and I can't wait to hear more of this thing because I'm hoping for more storylines like this one, more rock like this, and more character and personality.
You just don't get that super often, so when I heard this song, it really hit me in a very particular manner, and the song stuck with me amazingly.
Again, it was almost like reading a chapter of a book or a short story. Even a short film.
Absolutely listen to this track when you can and prepare for the LP set to come out this June.
