A Powerful and Honest New Single from Chandler Marie

A new single from Chandler Marie delivers quite a robust and honest approach in the form of a sort of warm toned Country power ballad that comes through with so much relatability and personality that it's almost impossible to turn away from.

This is a single that absolutely shines with artist presence and tells a story from a personal perspective in such a way that it paints a vivid picture in your head as the song unfolds.

This is one of my favorite aspects about it because it's an empowering kind of single.

"Like A Man" is a story about someone who's had just about enough. They've been in this relationship for a bit and the other half has proven to be not what was expected. It's a song about having a partner with a little bit too much lack of respect, and it's time to go.

What I dig about this is how she lays those lyrics out so straightforward. There's no metaphors here. It's just straight up all the things that makes her feel like she can do better. The things that makes her know it's time for her to leave and get out of the relationship. It's a breakup single.

Now, all break up songs are a little different, but this one again, has that sense of empowerment to it that is strong. This is something that we can feel in our bones when we listen to the song and I definitely love how she's able to put it out there so boldly.

It's definitely showing a bit of vulnerability, but that's perfectly fine. It's also unafraid at the same time.

This song clearly showcases an artist who gives pieces of herself and her music and that is one of the most powerful things that you can hear.

I found myself connecting with this almost immediately, and again, it has a lot to do with how She lays her lyrics out and performs with such a boisterous and vibrant approach.

The instrumentation across this track is beautiful. It's lush, full-bodied, and comes forth with that southern kissed tonality that again, makes it feel kind of warm in terms of the instrumentation and performances.

You have some great guitar work strewn throughout this single that gives it an extra hint of twang, and also crispness at the same time. This is something that's amazing because it balances the tone of the song out brilliantly.

You have that warmth, but you also have that sort of crispness as well, coming from the performances and those two, in combination, create something that has a particular kind of aesthetic.

Chandler's vocal approach to this is big. It's smooth and has heart, but that's because it's coming from a genuine place. It has that honesty and all the inner thoughts spilling out everywhere for all to soak in and that's important as well, but the way she performs it at times can also be very big and that delivers with it a powerful punch.

There's something about this track that also has a sort of classic or vintage pop undertone as well. The whole thing has a great pop coating to it, but there are times throughout the song where it feels like something that came out in the 80s or 90s.

Perhaps some of Chandler's influences come from those areas as well.

Either way, bringing that pop overtone, hints of vintage or classic pop radio songs and Country aesthetic, all come together like puzzle pieces.

Everything was done with such a wonderful attention to detail. The arrangement was pretty perfect, those courses really stick with you for hours or even days after the song has ended. Her ability to string together influences and create a song that has such a robust and flavorful kind of approach, while still having all that truth and honesty, is something that you don't get often, so when it comes across it's pretty refreshing.

Pull it all, this was beautifully done, certainly came from some real place, and has that welcoming but straightforward authenticity that gives a heavy-handed sense of empowerment and is all built on the sentiment that, if you've had enough, you can step up and step out.

You don't have to be in a situation that is not good for you.

Sometimes it takes a song to remind us of that.

So, take a dive into this one because you won't soon forget it, and you won't soon regret it either.

Chandler showcases such an affinity for country music and puts forth productions that are powerful.

Dig into this now and remember where you heard it first.
