A New Classic From The Dark Side Of Light
The Dark Side of Light just hit us with a new single and music video that both managed to pinpoint this amazingly well done mid-90s sort of trip hop vibe complete with classic feeling beats and vocals that perform melodies you feel like you were even hearing on the radio during that time.
The single is called "Hit Repeat" and it's such an outstanding combination of sounds that feels so warm and welcoming partly due to that nostalgic vibe that they were aiming for being hit on the nose.
The track itself is performed with this great energy and The melodies are ones that stick in your brain for hours after the song has ended.
The entire thing is aesthetically perfected and I don't think it could have been done any better than it's been done here.
This track has heart, it's fun, it's incredibly danceable with such a great groove and on top of all that, it's like I said, radio friendly enough to make you wonder if you've heard it before.
Now, the only thing that's better than just the song itself is the music video that accompanies it. To get the full feel or effect if you will, you have to watch the video the first time you listen to this track.
It makes it all the more better and really pushes that delivery of the sound that they were going for visually as well.
It's like they studied up not only on the sound and songwriting but also on the videos because that's how it's done.
This whole release is an absolute love letter to the genre and to the time. It came from and for someone that grew up through that time., I couldn't be happier with this.
They did a perfect job with pretty much every aspect of the performance both musically and visually and it's something that feels good.
It's been a while since you've heard anything that felt sort of nostalgic in this particular way and it's really something that you end up wanting more of.
You get that tingly feeling that comes with real nostalgia because this track makes you think of certain chapters of your life and I think that's part of its purpose.
I think this song was a chapter in their lives and this was their way of creating an old to that.
It's pretty cool how things like this can be more personal than what's on the surface but I get it.
This is a great one, check this out for sure it's worth more than your time and your playlists.
