A Emotionally Driven Single from DayEyez
A new release from DayEyez delivers a very honest approach in the form of an acoustic pop soundscape that comes through with a cinematic backbone and this emotional build that not only feels genuine but incredibly relatable to a lot of us.
"All I Had" it's quite an intense song at times because throughout the unfolding of this track you really get a grasp for the story behind it and it does indeed have a mass amount of emotional drive that comes through with shining colors and this is the aspect of it that you end up feeling from.
The song is about heartbreak in a sense. It's also about the emotional roller coaster that you go through once that happens starting with confusion, sadness, some anger, until you get to a bit of a closure to an extent.
This track manages to go through all those emotions in one song and I feel like that's an amazing thing to do because it's a 3 minute song basically.
The descriptive approach to the lyrics is really what grabs on to you because as soon as the song starts you know what's going on and you're in the perspective of the person who's getting their heart broken so being able to display those feelings and inner thoughts in such an articulate and storytelling manner is something quite beautiful if you ask me.
The track has a very radio friendly pot ballad kind of feel because the vocals are very robust and full-bodied in a sense.
The base of the track is acoustic guitars but there are other elements that come into play as the song grows into it's climaxes and these include key based string sections that build even more of that atmosphere and intensity, live drums, and all of these other elements that bring the song to life along with the passionate and pretty soulful vocal approach.
One of the things I really adored about this track was the fact that throughout it all it had this sort of pop coating so it's something that has that brutal kind of honesty and truth to it but it also has a catchiness to it that makes you remember it long after it's over.
This is indeed one of those songs that stick in your head to the point where you have to listen to it again in order to satiate yourself.
The vocal melodies are really outstanding and they give you that great hook and chorus but they also add these awesome highs and lows in terms of the melody that give the song either a somber or an uprising in terms of that emotional value and comes at you with a particular sort of pacing.
You're able to take in those emotions as they happen and then by the end of the track you have that closure. You have that element of moving on past that heartbreak and I just love how the song takes you through that whole story.
From the hurt to the closure to the growth.
It's something that you don't come across often, especially articulated in such a manner that makes so much sense and let the song come through with such a relatable punch.
This was a beautifully woven single that was not only catchy and memorable but impactful as well and all performed with an amazing energy that lets those lyrics have the impact that they were meant to have.
Take a listen to this track and see how it affects you because I'm sure it will.
