DayEyez Drop A Cinematic Rock Single

A brand new single from DayEyez delivers a very cinematic form of rock, and its sentiment is something that comes through brutally honest, although metaphorical, easily picked up on, and super relatable to a lot of us.

"Grave" is the track that digs pretty deep into some inner processing and the struggles between two people in a relationship that have been fighting to keep that love alive while they were still spiraling.

It feels like a song that touches on the gasp for air when trying to keep a relationship together, and how that can feel so difficult at times.

The song is about letting it go. Finally, just saying that's enough. The love is dead, it's all over.

It's something that a lot of us can understand, having been in different relationships before. It's not a new thing at all. This is a situation that happens often. Probably more often than we think or not.

The lyrics are brilliant here simply because they use death as a metaphor for the end of the relationship or the love. It's the love that's going into the grave.

This is intense, I know. It's done in such a unique fashion that it makes unbelievable sense when you listen to it.

The track itself, as I mentioned earlier, has a sort of cinematic rock aesthetic to it. There is a vastness and its undertone, but it has a great progression, and it's kind of hard with a lot of catchiness, even though it has a dark theme.

When you are writing a song about something so authentic, a lot of things come out.

This is a perfect example of a song that is written with fewer boundaries or walls built around it so that all those inner thoughts and feelings could actually come spilling out for everyone to soak in.

This is all part of why the song has so much resonance and why it leaves such an impact on the listener.

This hit me pretty hard as I've been in those relationships before. For some reason, you just struggle along and pretend.

Eventually, they end.

I love how this song touches on the fact that he's over pretending, and it's just time for everything to stop.

The metaphor of overall death throughout the song is so well put in relation to a love dying in a relationship.

Excellent here. The progressions are memorable, there's a whole pop overcoat to the track, especially in terms of its production.

The performances are all well done, and the song does have a very radio-friendly quality to it.

This is most certainly a song that comes from a band who have a true love for their craft. When I say that, I don't just mean playing their instruments or singing, I mean writing songs together that have an impact.

This track has plenty of layers to it, along with a load of emotional backbone and drive that help push the song exactly to where it needs to be.

You can hear certain levels of intensity in the song growing towards the end of it. That final chorus is just massive with great vocal harmonies and a heavier-handed performance all around. Everything grows in that big wave of intensity that hits.

The sentiment is put in place, and the book is closed.

This is all well thought out. There was a lot of attention paid to the composition and arrangement of the song, along with how the lyrics progress with the music.

The track walks a line between indie and alternative rock, but again, I'm going to call it cinematic rock because I feel like that is a perfect balance. The way that they showcase the emotion with the heavy edge musically is extremely well done.

After listening to this track, I found myself going through some previous releases, and they definitely have quite a catalog under their belts.

If you dig this track, I would suggest checking out some of their other stuff because each release seems to showcase a bit of a different side to how they do their thing.

Now, as far as we can tell, this single is a glimpse of an upcoming full album release headed to us this fall. I certainly can't wait to hear that one, but this track will hold me over until then.

Absolutely check the track out as soon as you can and see what this does for you.
