A Video Premiere From Dorsten
A new video premiere from Dorsten brings out a massively cinematic and lush soundscape that features slide guitars and lush and full-bodied vocals that come together to create an atmosphere that feels like it surrounds you completely.
"To The River" has a way of becoming almost fantastical and as this happens you get the feeling you're stepping into an actual old western because all the tonality and charm is there.
This track boasts so much character that it's impossible to look away from and as the song unravels you kind of get a storyline as well if you pay attention to the lyrics.
One of the things that really hit me hard about this track was how the song builds and then settles back down in different ways because I think it's a brilliant way to create different arrangements in one piece of music.
This track has that persona that gets you quickly attached but also is very inventive and youthful in its creativity as well so that you get this vibe that quickly wraps itself around you.
A lot about the song was very well paid attention to you right down to the guitar tones and there are some great surprises throughout the track that you don't really expect coming so when they do it's a big boom and I love tracks that surprise me like that.
It's completely fun to have a track as animated as this track is and the only thing that pushes that envelope even more is watching this music video along with the song because it's the best way to do it.
The music video showcases the duo's presence as artists and as a group, but it also shows their personas as people and their creativity behind and in front of the camera as well.
This is unique because it's a brother-sister duo and they probably grew up together wanting to do this and finally seeing it come to fruition is probably quite magical.
From the listener's end it's just as magical and this high and vivacious level of creative push lets this song thrive and lets them also thrive as musicians doing their thing the way they want to do it.
The sequences in this music video play out along with the music itself is smart and both the video and the song unravel in a timely fashion so it all comes together very well.
This is the kind of song and video that you want to watch more than once and I definitely suggest you do just that because it's well worth that second watch so that you pick up on everything musically and visually.
The track itself really does boast this current style that blends different influences together and the whole thing makes me want to see them live so that I can feel that vibe in a personal space.
The energy they have between each other is nearly perfect and the way that they feed off of each other in that matter is something to see for sure.
This is all part of why I would love to see them in a live setting.
On top of all that, it looks like they had a ball doing everything from the music to the video and I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for Dorsten in the coming months as I'm certainly hoping they're going to be releasing something new once again.
But for now we have this excellent video so definitely take some time to check this out and turn it up.
