Energy Whores Deliver A Set of Genre-Bending EP

Comprised of A Single Reimagned

A very unique EP release from Energy Whores just dropped and it consists of one single in four different approaches, which was quite brilliant when you listen to it because they're all so different from each other.

This is a record that straight up shows you how inventive this project is and how they aren't afraid to branch out, try different things, and reinvent themselves at any given point in time.

The fun part about this is that all of the versions of this track are brilliant. They each dip into different elements of rebranding the song and changing the mood, soundscape, and complete aesthetic.

I'm not sure if this is something that they had planned when they first wrote the original version, but it's such a cool idea, and it works amazingly.

So, the song is called "Invisible", and the first version is called the "Synth Pop Version", which definitely has great energy to it, some vast undertones, a bit of a futuristic feel, brilliant synthesizers, and these smooth and flowing vocals that give the song great depth and tonality.

This first version is definitely pop-riddled, and is extremely danceable.

There are layers of different keys and synthesizers that bring this whole thing to life; some of them feel like synth pads that you would hear in a new wave song or a post-punk track. I love how they incorporate these different elements into this version of the song and help build its atmosphere.

This one gives you great layers, and you can kind of feed into the energy of it.

The next one is called "Invisible - Lo-Fi Version", and this one features a whole different set of instrumentation.

First of all, you have fresh, crisp but warm piano, and the vocals come in completely differently as well. These aren't just remixes. They're reinventions of the song.

It's not like they're taking the same vocal track and dubbing it into a new mix of the song. Everything is completely rewritten.

The vocals on this one have a kind of emo-pop thing going on and I love their melodic approach on this one when it comes to those.

It still has some great synthesizers but they're completely different in their texture and tone, giving it a spacious sort of feel, a personal approach, and this almost inviting tonality that feels like you're swimming through a dream.

I think this may be my favorite version, but let's keep going because there's two other versions of this track on the record and the next one is really incredible.

The next version of the track is the "Cinematic Version", and of course, this one is fully sort of orchestrated, symphonically pushed, and has a bit of a graceful touch to it.

I like this one a lot because the orchestrated element brings a great, full-bodied tonality to the song and it also helps warm up to a more emotional backbone.

I certainly wasn't expecting this one, but it worked out amazingly. This is a version that definitely wraps itself around you, gives you loads of beautiful, smooth sounds, and it sort of lets you drift alongside it.

Finally we have the last version called the "Indie Version", which once again has its own vibe altogether.

This has a little bit of a bigger energy than the cinematic or Lo-Fi versions did. It's got a little vivaciousness but not over the top. The vocals are much closer feeling in the mix, and again I think they are completely redone here as well.

The beat is different as well, giving you all kinds of added percussive elements that weren't in the others, and there is this sort of element about it that lets you get washed away with it.

This one, for some reason has a bit of a breezy sort of Summer feel to it. It makes me think of being on a beach at sunset. It's just got this flavorful, colorful approach even though it's still very relaxed.

Again, all these versions were really good and really different, showcasing a band that doesn't hold back when it comes to creativity.

They just roll with it and create whatever they're feeling in the moment, and this is what you get in return. You have these re-imaginings of the same track that all feel different in terms of their mood and texture.

Of course, I've heard plenty of remix records before, but this takes things to a different level. Again, these aren't just remixes. They're all completely re-performed, and although they keep very similar arrangements and composition, each has its own embodiment of the song.

To see what I mean, you'll have to delve into this record.

So, check this one out, and you'll see what I mean.
