A Refreshing Single from eRapwmdx
A recent single release from eRapwmdx takes a vintage and classic rustic folk approach and brings into a new playing field by adding an array of instrumentation but a very particular build that adds drive to the song along with this honesty that breeds a certain kind of character that you end up attaching yourself to very quickly.
"Tomorrow Is a Long Time" is a love song of sorts and the lyrics get so descriptive that you can picture things vividly in your head and feel your own heart pounding while he articulates the intensity of his inner feelings and thoughts, and I think that descriptive matters is such a beautiful aspect in terms of bringing a song to life the way he does here.
I absolutely adore the combination of classic, southern roots folk songwriting with this almost updated feel and it's done by way of bringing in percussion in a unique way and giving the song this sort of edginess that you don't normally hear with these kinds of songs so those two elements being brought together is what makes this song stand out so much.
You still get rolling snares and a lot of honesty in the track which makes it so authentic plus you get vocals that are sort of animated in a way and this gives more to that character that the track displays.
This track was warm and felt good to listen to because it's high-spirited in a way and it also has a little bit of a cinematic backbone especially in the way it was produced.
This was certainly created by a person who has a real love for the craft of songwriting and is probably in his zone or happy place if you will, sitting in the studio and doing his thing because what he creates has a lot fewer boundaries than the norm and I think that's a wonderful thing.
The song is constructed beautifully with lush instrumentation like banjo, guitar, percussion, and these vocals that come through with an almost live performance feel energy-wise and that also adds to the drive of the song just as much as anything else.
The song has a brightness to it and hits with vivacious energy that's infectious and colorful but still has that hint of edginess in its undertone.
It's quite unique how it comes through with both that edgy feel but also that wonderful warmth that it delivers as well.
This track sort of has its own atmosphere in a way and upon listening to it I took a listen to some of the other releases from this artist and I found a slew of songs in the forms of singles and albums that have this great pop overtone a lot of the time and you can hear some of those staple feels that make him and his sound his own.
Having said that, there are a lot of different sides to the songwriting and approaches if you listen to a lot of the material that's been released, especially on the Spotify page.
This is an artist that once I found, I wouldn't listen to more stuff so I can follow the evolution of the way the songs are written because that usually speaks volumes for the artist's personality.
eRapwmdx is not just a songwriter but he is a creator, producer, and engineer who brings all of his knowledge and passion to the table when he's making tracks and this is something you can hear in the music from the get-go.
Check this truck out when you get a chance and don't be afraid to turn it up because it feels great and while you're at it, check out some of his other releases because it's certainly not a waste of your time.
