Featured Artist: Erene Mastrangeli
Erene Mastrangeli gives a superb perfromance on her latest effort, an album called Loveshine that shined indeed with a group of songs that let you into her personal space and when you give this record a listen, ther is no bad song to start with.
We went in order to the track listing as we suspect there was plenty of thought put into the order of the songs and when you listen to this unabridged album, you should be exactly the same.
If ou are a little short on time I would start with the title track Love, Shine and follow that with a song called Let's Take It Slow.
Each of the songs bears a little soul and the entire album presents a lot to think about as stories unravel.
"I wrote the title track, Love, Shine, in response to the mass shooting at the LGTBQ night club Pulse, in Orlando, in 2016. That was the day I woke up to the insanity of gun violence in this country because it hit my community and I felt this time it was personal. The only thing I could do was to go to my guitar, which once again became my refuge and source of soothing. When the song was completed I felt it spoke to me, I swear. I heard this message saying, “I need to be recorded and get out into the world, regardless of how you feel about it”. I just obeyed that voice. I went in search for a producer, and I found my match in Rome, of all places. I packed my bags, rented my apartment in Brooklyn, and proceeded to stay in Italy for 8 months. It was the best decision of my life! Working with Daniele Sinigallia was such a gift. He was in love with my songs as much as I was and he totally got me, musically, emotionally and spiritually. We recorded this album as a concept album, meant to be listened from start to finish, possibly in the order we decided." - Erene
Mastrangeli put her soul into the music and it makes you empathetic to most of the songs.
We are excited to feature Erene on our blog and hope it reaches the masses as this is one record you should be listening to.
