Eric Schroeder Delivers A Massive New Rock Single
A brand-new release from Eric Schroeder delivers such a massive pop-rock soundscape that you can't help but get addicted straight away as the track boasts musical hooks along with heavy-handed choruses that descriptively tell stories so you end up getting not only wrapped up in the music but in the lyrics as well and this all happens right from the get-go.
"Emily" is clearly influenced by a lot of classic rock and you can hear that throughout different parts of the track as it unfolds, but it also has a very thick and full-bodied soundscape and texture to it as well with guitars that rock a bit harder, come through fatter, and boast a little bit more edginess than you might expect from a classic rock track.
This was quite an embracing song because you get a feel for the hook right off the bat. You get sucked into those lyrics as they tell the stories with detail and aside from all that, you have some amazing instrumentation like pianos which the song is kind of based on as a rhythm instrument along with all those guitars of course.
So, you get this very thick feeling song that comes through with such a fun and uplifting punch and this ends up being a bit infectious in terms of catching that vibe and wanting to stick to it.
Along with all that classic rock influence, you can also hear some of the early 90s rock coming through there and you get elements of garage, indie rock, and even hints of grunge, and it all gets wrapped up into one fat single that you end up loving.
There is a sort of rambunctious and vivacious approach to this track that really lets it come across powerfully in a way.
Eric's ability to write a song that hits like a banger but also has layers to it and brings together vintage songwriting approaches with fresher ones is really impressive.
You can tell that this is someone who puts a good piece of himself into his music when he releases a track and then he does pay a lot of attention to detail to its approach and the recording process as well.
Throughout all of this though, there is heart and that robust personality involved so, you end up really getting a good chunk of that when you listen to this track especially.
One of my favorite aspects about this song in particular is its energy level because it's through the roof half the time. It's got such an electric energy to the point where it feels like a whole band is recording this live on the floor and everyone is feeding off of each other the entire time.
I can't be sure but I think maybe all of this is Eric himself and he's a multi-instrumentalist.
Either way, you definitely get attached to the vibrancy of this song and the way it unfolds in terms of its composition and arrangement are really outstanding as well so you know there was a lot of thought put into that.
But again, it's got that bit of soul and heart that really shines through and this is something that lets the song thrive.
This is a perfect example of a track that is written and composed with fewer boundaries than you may be used to. This is something that I adore because it combines multiple genres but also songwriting approaches and listening to it feels completely freeing because there are some things that you don't expect to happen that actually do happen and the song ends up being quite explosive.
Such a unique and beautiful mixture of influences come through during the course of this single giving it a rounded feel but also a youthful and sort of fists-in-the-air undertone.
This was a track that you could easily crank at a great volume and still sing along with at the top of your lungs.
Don't just take my word for it though, have a listen to this one and remember where you heard this first.
