A Rustic New Release From Fox Apts.
A new release from Fox Apts gives off a hauntingly cinematic and emotionally driven feel that's completed with a set of acoustic and natural instrumentation that sways and swells as it engulfs you.
"Founder's Blues" has a Slow Burn but a big build. It creates a vivid picture for you to walk through and while it does all of this you end up having the hairs on your arms stand up straight.
You have this beautiful banjo tonality and as the song plays on strings and violin comes into play which drives that cinematic progression even further.
The whole thing manages to crawl under your skin in the best ways possible.
This single was truly like watching a scene in a movie or reading a chapter of a book and when it's over you have to step back into reality which isn't easy with a song like this.
This is because you have fallen so deep into it that you have to snap back out of it again.
The vocals are performed with a certain cross between heart and passion but point is to listen to the words and if you do so, you can feel what they mean to the artist.
Quite a storyteller and great attention to detail without ever losing any feeling or emotion, the single leaves you fulfilled but still wanting more.
Of course, this is probably a good thing because a full ep will be released this April and we can only hope it Bears more material like this one.
We want songs to make us think and make us feel and Fox Apts pulls this kind of thing off easily.
This was wonderfully performed and showcases a classic and rustic approach that creeps into your bones.
Listen to this one with headphones.
