A Fresh Banger from Groovee Is Here
An absolute banger just dropped from Groovee, and this track blends such a classic funk underbelly with a righteous, colorful, and unbelievably danceable overtone that blends electronic, slight hints of dub, a little bit of break, and loads of great instrumentation, bringing elements of natural and digital instruments together to build something that is definitely catching.
"I Don't Know You" comes through as borderline genius to me simply because it takes live horn samples and blends them in as rhythmic chunks and then takes live saxophone and lets that flow over the track, but with a reverb effect on it so that it's not too over the top.
The saxophone is sort of fading in and out of the track so that the rest of the music can still remain on the Forefront.
It's got a banging beat and that's really what counts here. The song is fully excitable, electric with energy, and again, it's got this burst of color that shines through with massive presence, and you can't help but move your body to this.
I certainly dig those dubstep elements that are coming in with raw sort of fat synthesizers, bringing an extra edginess to the track, but again, simply balanced. The whole thing is balanced insanely well.
Horns, the samples, the vocal sample, the beat, the synthesizers, it's all balanced to perfection so that everything hits the way it's supposed to.
The song packs a punch, but it does so with a brightness and again, brings loads of that classic funk to the table, so it actually takes some of the best attributes of old and new school approaches and puts those together.
This is kind of what helps build the aesthetic in the atmosphere that it puts out.
You get hints of glitch in there, loads of breakbeat elements, it's just inventive and stylish.
There's something cinematic about it. It's almost like you could see this in a car commercial perfectly. It's sleek and cool, but it bounces as well.
You don't usually come across a track with such a well-balanced color and edginess. It's usually one that overpowers the other, but here, it's just mixed and performed, arranged, and composed exactly right so that the song never loses its essence and showcases all these different textures together to create something.
I think that's part of the fun of it. Having something refreshing, breathing new life into these genres, makes you shake your ass in your seat. Straight up.
This is a feel-good track. There's loads of energy bursting through every aspect of it, it feels great to listen to nice and loud, and it features such a brilliant blend of genres and instrumentation that you can't turn away from it.
It's got some cool guitar work, some experimental aspects, especially towards the end, and it just grabs you in a certain way.
This was absolutely endlessly fun and is a total party track from start to finish. The energy doesn't really let up, and you don't want it to. This is a song that pulls you in and infectiously grabs hold of you. You want to move, you want to dance, you want to groove.
And believe me, you will when you hear the song.
Also, again, that saxophone adds such a cool aspect to the song. The way it's just laid out across this banger of a track is awesome.
Everything sort of feeds into each other. The saxophone makes the beat sound cooler, the synths make the saxophone sound cooler, the vocal sample makes the horn samples sound cooler, and so on.
Every aspect of the track leans on the other, and that's what makes this work so well.
At any rate, you're going to dig this one, so pop some headphones on or jump in the car to jam on this one for sure.
