Haas Hunter's New Single "Spite"

Haas Hunter return once again with a brand new single that comes right in with a brutal and heavy soundscape, dropped-down and deepening tonalities, and rumbling bass guitar tones.
We're not strangers to the sounds of this band and when it comes down to it, these guys are always releasing something that blows my mind, especially when it comes to inventive and super heavy guitar riffs and wasting no time presenting them to catch your ear.
"Spite" is no exception to this rule as the guys come through with a crazy heavy intro into a progressive and electronically backed soundscape and the combination of the deepening heavy metal guitars and bass guitars, in combination with some of the electronic synth elements that are in and out of the song, really builds anesthetic.
One of the reasons I dig this song so much is because it also talks about living a life of spite and how that ends up hurting you in the end.
This is a track with a message. If you really listen to the lyrics you'll pick up on it loud and clear.
The progressive element of this track is genius because the arrangement of it all comes together with impact but also with these bridge sections that have a different light to them.
I love how they're able to produce these songs so well and have them come through with such a massive drive but also be melodically driven simultaneously.
In true Haas Hunter form, there is a great breakdown section and this is one of the parts where you can get a glimpse of that bass guitar tone loud and clear.
There's also an outstanding guitar solo part that isn't exactly a full solo but presents more like another melody section and it's done super well because it brings on a different layer to that part of the song.
The way they come out of that bridge section and guitar part into the heavy riff is genius and it really builds a climactic part into the arrangement of the song.
You can tell this was definitely well thought out and the band always has a knack for producing songs that feel gigantic. The entire soundscape of this has a perfect balance between the low end and the high end.
The low end is deep and thick which works perfectly because the riffs are also deep. The guitars and bass feel like they're tuned down a few steps to give that fierce and robust heaviness to the track.
Still, there is a lot of melody happening throughout this track and a lot of meaning behind the lyrics so there's a lot to soak in at once.
The drumming as usual, is one of the best parts about the entire thing. This drummer really has a knack for not just giving the song energy but pushing everyone else in the band.
At least, that's what it seems like to me. The drumming gives that push and then everyone else in the band feeds from that energy and explodes.
I feel like this is why they have such a massive soundscape when you hear their music.
It's not just metal. It's vast and expansive so the songs feel widened and you can get a bit engulfed in them.
All of the songs are a bit different and they usually present something refreshing with each one. They do stick to that formula of deep and heavy riffs, metal backbone, a little bit of electronic synth action, and lyrics with messages in them.
Now, if you haven't heard these guys before, then this is a track to dive in with; however, they do have several singles released before this one that are all outstanding in different ways.
Sounds like "Trial Unknown" and "To Forget" showcase the band's abilities to weave a song together and have it come through with a heavy punch and impactful style.
If you dig this track, which I don't know how you wouldn't, then definitely check out the rest of their singles.
Haast Hunter is a band for people who like full-bodied, driving, and Bovine heavy metal with deep riffs and a soundscape that just surrounds you completely.
The single is out now so go check it out.
