Häxa Delivers a Haunting Storytelling Single
A new single from Häxa comes together with such a fast and cinematic feel, a lot of haunt, and a very descriptive and detailed story that paints a picture as the song unfolds, and this is a heavy-handed tail that stays with you because of how she describes everything along with the way she's able to create this mood for those lyrics musically that go right along with the almost eerie undertone of it all.
"Bitter Water Burns" is brilliantly put together, especially in terms of that story, simply because different attributes of it come to light later on in the song. Right away, you're captured by it all. You find yourself really following along closely and listening to the words.

It's very easy to get swallowed up by this single, and I think you're meant to. I think you're meant to get hooked into the music and story, and have that sort of overwhelm your mind for a little bit.
The song certainly accomplishes that mission.
I can't get away from these airy and almost floating vocals and how they feel almost like instruments themselves at certain parts of the song.
The way the vocals and synthesizers are mixed tonally is gorgeous, and I think that's a big attribute as to why the song has such an impact.
The arrangement is another aspect of the song that was very well thought out.
You can tell there was most certainly a lot of attention to detail in the arrangement and in the tones of the instruments involved.
In terms of that arrangement, the song has ways of becoming intense and then sort of exhaling back down. There's a moment towards the very end of the song where everything gets very calm before exploding into a bigger, more driving moment, and in that moment, things are massive.
Utilizing elements of electronic music to create orchestrated and cinematic landscapes is something I wouldn't imagine is easy to do, but with this track, it just feels so natural.
She has an amazing way of creating lush and very full-bodied aesthetics and atmospheres using digital instruments and her vocals.
Even during the bigger, sonically huge and more intense parts, her vocals remain dynamically smooth, and that is really cool because it helps you pay attention to what's going on in the story even more.
It's not every day that you come across a track like this. A song that blends and bends genres in a way. One that uses digital instrumentation to create that huge sound and have it feel almost like a movie score.
Not to mention being able to tell such a detailed story in a way that you can follow along with.
A great combination of aspects that she fits together like puzzle pieces, somehow.
