Häxa Delivers a Haunting Storytelling Single

A new single from Häxa comes together with such a fast and cinematic feel, a lot of haunt, and a very descriptive and detailed story that paints a picture as the song unfolds, and this is a heavy-handed tail that stays with you because of how she describes everything along with the way she's able to create this mood for those lyrics musically that go right along with the almost eerie undertone of it all.

"Bitter Water Burns" is brilliantly put together, especially in terms of that story, simply because different attributes of it come to light later on in the song. Right away, you're captured by it all. You find yourself really following along closely and listening to the words.

As this happens, the song has ways of growing and intensity, and the whole thing has a flow to it that wraps itself around you.

This track has a bit of a cross between dream-pop and alternative as it features dark and edgy synthesizers, and keys that help create an atmosphere going right along with the tale it tells.

One of the things I love about this track is its percussive elements. The percussion and beats are a huge part of how the song actually does end up building and becoming more climactic at certain points.

Songs like this deliver certain kinds of waves of intensity that come and go, and I definitely fell right into that, along with this spacious and expansive approach musically that creates the sound in which you can escape.

This was something I loved about the song as well. It pulls you away from wherever you are and puts you in this story for a good chunk of time.

The vocals are so smooth, and they have a passion in their delivery while keeping in mind the tale she is telling is important.

Throughout the track, you have beautiful Melodies that still come with a clear-cut haunting tonality and approach. These melodies are very memorable, and a lot about this song seems to stick with you after it ends.

It's almost like reading a book. There are things about the story and about the music and melodies that just linger in your head, and that's something that made me go back for seconds and even thirds.

The artist's use of synthesizers is unbelievable. She's able to really build an almost orchestrated aesthetic by using keys and synths, which is something you don't get too often. She doesn't go over the top of it. She keeps things very dynamically balanced while still creating waves of Sonic presence that sort of crashed down, but in a slow-burning way.

There are definitely since here that feel like violins, and those spacious synth pads add such a great depth and almost distance to the track, which, all in all, gives it that cinematic and almost theatrical sound.

It's very easy to get swallowed up by this single, and I think you're meant to. I think you're meant to get hooked into the music and story, and have that sort of overwhelm your mind for a little bit.

The song certainly accomplishes that mission.

I can't get away from these airy and almost floating vocals and how they feel almost like instruments themselves at certain parts of the song.

The way the vocals and synthesizers are mixed tonally is gorgeous, and I think that's a big attribute as to why the song has such an impact.

The arrangement is another aspect of the song that was very well thought out.

You can tell there was most certainly a lot of attention to detail in the arrangement and in the tones of the instruments involved.

In terms of that arrangement, the song has ways of becoming intense and then sort of exhaling back down. There's a moment towards the very end of the song where everything gets very calm before exploding into a bigger, more driving moment, and in that moment, things are massive.

Utilizing elements of electronic music to create orchestrated and cinematic landscapes is something I wouldn't imagine is easy to do, but with this track, it just feels so natural.

She has an amazing way of creating lush and very full-bodied aesthetics and atmospheres using digital instruments and her vocals.

Even during the bigger, sonically huge and more intense parts, her vocals remain dynamically smooth, and that is really cool because it helps you pay attention to what's going on in the story even more.

It's not every day that you come across a track like this. A song that blends and bends genres in a way. One that uses digital instrumentation to create that huge sound and have it feel almost like a movie score.

Not to mention being able to tell such a detailed story in a way that you can follow along with.

A great combination of aspects that she fits together like puzzle pieces, somehow.

So, listen to this song with headphones on. This is something I suggest for any kind of music that really presents layers of textures that you can sort of swim through. This is a perfect example of that.

Listening with headphones lets you soak everything in, and along with all those sonic textures presented, you want to pay attention to the story, so this also lets you hear every lyric as clear as crystal.

Dive into this track as soon as you can, as it just dropped, right in time for Halloween.
