Hazel Brings Retro Pop To A New Arena
The latest single release from Hazel brings on the retro synth pop style and crosses it with acoustic guitars and a borderline contemporary indie rock undertone with twangy electric guitar lines and pop oriented vocals.
"Thinking On" has a wonderfully catchy chorus and the track has an overlaying ambient vibe to it that gives it its own atmosphere and cinematic pallet.
Synths and pads swell and sway while vocals float on into the songs bridge that gives the feel of Peter Gabriel until it breaks into guitar hooks and a bopping bassline.
This single has a bright but distant approach that builds and becomes colorful and alive.
A neon lit pop opus that keeps you glued to the speakers from start to finish and a radio friendly soundscape that crawls under your skin in all the best ways, "Thinking On" has a massive appeal.
The song is a follow up to the bands 2019 release dubbed "Occupy My Sun" which subtly grows around you and gets super danceable and fun but with a slight edge to it that sticks.
All in all, it's clear Hazel knows how to write and produce some major pop tracks with the ability to get you stuck on the sound, get your head bopping along, and likely get you dancing around the room in no time.
You can dig into both tracks and we're sure you won't soon regret it.
