A Fuzz Tone Banger From Helen Kelter Skelter
The latest release from Helen Kelter Skelter brings out a vibrant and edgy surf rock-toned banger of a soundscape that comes through packed with energy and a certain sort of swagger that drives you to it more and more.
"Best Friends" is insanely fun and has this attitude about it that comes through as a wild card of sorts with fuzz tones and character-riddled vocals that grab at you.
This track also has a great live performance feel to it and these guys obviously love what they're doing while they're doing it.
This track comes together with a refreshing feel to it and the whole thing is coded with this particular sort of grittiness that quickly becomes a staple part of the band's soundscape.
The song definitely makes you want to see these guys live and in person because that energy is fierce and it's super fun. You just figure that should surely come through in a show.
The drumming and bass really drive the crap out of this song while the guitars rock out but still have these super distorted and delayed melodies and notes that lay top certain sections of the song adding this crazy atmosphere to everything.
There are also these little hints towards old-school riot and indie rock influences that obviously come through in their sound.
Can kind of tell that each member brought their own personal influences to the band and together they created something they can all really get down with.
The surf Rock undertone is surely there as well throughout most of the song especially the guitar and the drumming, but the whole thing has its own vibe and although it's edgy it still has color and flavor to it.
This was a damn good time and the video that accompanies the single which you can watch below, is awesome and really shows how the guys have a good time doing their thing.
Definitely jump on this one and crank it loud.
