An Interview With Highland Kites
We had a chance to talk with Highland Kites about their new release and what they are up to now. Here's what happened!
TSWS: Congratulations on Long Road releasing. It's a great song! How did this singles release feel for Highland Kites?
HK: Thank you! It felt very therapeutic to release this song. It was one of those ones that was very healing to write, it feels nice to have it out in the world now.
TSWS: What was the best fan reaction you've gotten so far?
HK: We've gotten some messages about how much the song resonates, and how beautiful they feel it is. Those always make us incredibly happy. Knowing that the song is resonating with others and making others feel understood, that's the whole reason we do this!
TSWS: Who did you share the song with first?
HK: I think the person I played it for was my husband in it's brand new (just me and guitar) phase. Once the song was done and produced I sent it to my sister who I always send my new tracks to right away.
TSWS: What did you do to celebrate the drop?
HK: Started making the next one! haha
TSWS: How often are you getting in the studio?
HK: Right now we are recording and producing everything ourselves, which I've been doing as much as I possibly can. We have had friends helping us with mixing. Our friend Nick Bullock (who's an amazing producer/mixing here in Nashville) mixed this one, and added some guitar and the bass in the song.
TSWS: Where are you going with your music next?
HK: We have a couple completed tracks we are very excited about that we are figuring out when and how to release. I'm currently going back and forth on continuing to release singles for a bit or just creating a full EP. Time will tell...

HK: We are on all social media platforms as Highland Kites (@highlandkites). We're the most active on Instagram and recently have been posting a lot of live type videos on TikTok as well.
