Hollow Star Returns With A Catchy New Single

A new single release from Hollow Star delivers a bright and righteous pop-rock approach that beckons classic indie rock along the way, with fun, bouncy chord progressions and rhythms, along with some fresh honesty. Throughout this track, you can actually hear classic punk influence. This is something I quite enjoyed because parts of the song made me feel like I was listening to some classic Ramones.

Perhaps they are one of the many influences under the artist's belt.

"Capital" it's quite a fun track and again, very bouncy with rhythm. It pops along and is definitely not shying away from that pop overtone, but also lends a hand to a little bit of edginess along the way, by giving you some of that straightforward lyrical approach, and great guitar tone.

This is a track that's hard not to dance to. It's got a great sort of groove to it, and I love how this artist can put together a song that is so clean but also has this level of drive and vivaciousness to it.

I'm noticing one of the staples of how the music is put together is by layering guitars that are playing similar things but not the same. The guitar work on this track and the last one showcased how the artist can let two guitars bounce against or with each other throughout a track, giving it a thicker and more bouncy feel.

This track is a perfect example of exactly that, as it has the two guitar tracks slightly left and slightly right, giving you that surrounding feel and how they bounce against each other, but then slip into the same rhythm every once in a while. This is such a cool move rhythmically and such a smart way to deliver a guitar work that's a little bit outside the box, but still very pop-infused.

The way this track works is brilliant because it gives you a lot of area to jump around. At a certain point, it sort of speeds up and does a double-time drum beat from what it was earlier. This gives it an extra punch and again showcases some of the punk influence that it encompasses.

One of the cool things about this is that it is driving, but it's not over the top. Everything is very well balanced dynamically, and you can tell that he never strays too far from the pop formula that he knows and loves.

This is not only based on "Capitol", but also his previous single "Seconds", as he gives us that rounded pop overcoat but still delivers approaches you can jump around the room with rhythmically and coming through with these vocals that are semi-subtle.

This is also something that reminds me of classic Ramones tracks. The music is robust, colorful, vibrant, a little edgy, and loads of fun. The vocals balance that out by being a little bit calmer but delivering unique melodies, and are double-tracked so that you have a thickness there that matches the thickness of the guitars on the track as well.

Micah Lopez is the man behind all of this, and it is clear that he has a lot of different influences that he sort of pulls from, but he also gives his own spin on his music and creates tracks that are memorable and balanced between the uproarious, punk undertone and the colorful pop overtone.

This was really fun and a great follow-up to his previous single, leading me to hold on to hope for an EP or an album somewhere in the near future.

Definitely check this truck out because it's super worth it, especially if you're into pop punk, pop rock, or classic indie rock. He seems to encompass all of these with both of these songs.

Each track is certainly more than worth your time, so check this out right now to see exactly what I'm talking about.
