Isabelle Gitlin Release A Powerful New Single
Isabelle Gitlin returns with a new single that reignites this inner spirit we all have, and it's something that comes across with such a robust and beautiful soundscape, along with a sort of youthful sense of freedom, but also hints of struggle with a light at the end of the tunnel.
"Feel My Soul" is a track that focuses around a relationship where you're attached but then that person decides they don't want you anymore, they cut you lose, and although you have certain elements of sadness, maybe some heartbreak, some struggle, and a sense of loss, suddenly you realize that you're also getting a sense of freedom.
It feels good not to have that person right now. Maybe they were hindering you. Maybe it wasn't the right fit after all, and now you're looking back and realizing all of that.
Sometimes hindsight is a lot better than what you see while you're in the moment, and what may have seemed like a loss at the time turns out to be something you needed.
Isabelle is an artist who utilizes her situations, personal emotion, and a sense of self to not just build a new, but create something.
This is a spirited track, as I said in the beginning. This is not a downer. It's got that sense of struggle in there, sure, but it's about coming out of it as a new person.
I think that this is an artist who's able to really reel in her emotions and turn them into something powerful. Her creative output is massive, and it's something that really showcases a big part of who she is as a person.
This track gives a lot of self, and it feels good to listen to it because you still get that sense of vulnerability and, in the end, that freedom.
She has a beautiful way of taking you through the situation from such a personal point of view and then letting you feel those emotions along with her.
This is a huge track in terms of its production and how she utilizes some of her biggest influences to come through with crazy vocals that are just gorgeous, layered, harmonized, and alive.
We've been listening to the sounds of Isabelle Gitlin for quite some time, and this is one of her most powerful tracks to date.
It is so uplifting and authentic that you can't turn away from it.
Her vocal approach is confident now; it's right there in your face, and there's no getting around it. She's got soul impacted in her performance, and it's laced with that character she always gives you.
Listening to her songs is like reading chapters in a diary.
You get to know more about her, and as that happens, you begin to get attached to the music that she is putting out there.
The thing with an artist like her is that you're getting something genuine, and when it comes to any kind of artistry, the more real the better.
Isabelle is unafraid to put those walls down when she's releasing her music, and this is a song that showcases that extremely well.
Our vocals bend, sway, and they're just vibrant.
The track itself has this cross between pop and R&B, which is kind of like a staple in her music productions, and I think it's probably her best song yet.
Now, I do suggest listening to her other releases.
"It Still", released earlier this year, is also amazing, and if you like this track, you're going to love that, along with her previous "Long & Gone" release from 2024.
It's clear that writing, creating, singing, and releasing her music is a part of who she is, and this is how she lets things out.
With the release of such an empowering new single, we sat down with Isabelle to talk about it.
Here's what happened.
TSWS: Hey again Isabelle and welcome back! This new single is gorgeous and really showcases your harmonies and lush vocal approach with a little flare in the rhythm and melody! Where did this track come from?
Thank you, that’s very kind. I started working on this song three years ago. I was originally trying to write to another track but was stuck. Another incredible writer was brought onto the project and we ended up discarding the original track. We came up with the first version of the song and I sat with it for a few years, I tried recording different versions of the song but it wasn’t the sound I was looking for. I eventually came back to it late last year with a new perspective and rewrote some sections. I brought it to my producer who was really able to help build the track in the way I envisioned it.
TSWS: Who helped you produce this track?
I worked with a producer named Mike Midura on this project.
TSWS: When you hit the studio, do you have a scratch track for your producer already? How much of this is written at the studio itself?
I’ll come in with the song fully written but we’ll build the track at the studio. Sometimes I’ll have a melodic idea for it, a riff, or certain instruments I want on the track but the producer I work with truly creates it from scratch and does an amazing job with it.
TSWS: This song really shines and shows a bit of a direction change. It has a pop overtone and feels spirited! Is this what you were going for?
It was! I wanted to create something that felt free and brought a sense of peace in the face of the unknown. I wanted to branch out and try something new sonically and lyrically yet retain the full and colorful sounds/vocal harmonies I love to incorporate in my work.
TSWS: When you hear a song finally completed, mixed and all, is it a relief? What do you feel?
It sometimes is a relief but most of the time I always think something could be fixed or that it’s not fully finished and ready. I have to stop myself from continuously tweaking things.
TSWS: This was a song that felt colorful and empowering in a way. Was there an emotion, situation, or thought that you drew from to create something this impactful?
There wasn’t any particular situation, a lot of my songs are based on a feeling, sometimes that feeling is related to a situation and sometimes it just exists. For this one, I was feeling very stuck in my life and confined in the spaces I was in. I am typically a nervous person, I worry about change and the unknown and I wanted to create something that let go of all of that. Those feelings fueled this project and the lyrics especially.
TSWS: Now that this one is released, what happens next for you as an artist?
I am looking forward to performing! I have some shows in the works which I’m excited for. I’m also always creating, I’m always working on another project, playing around on my piano, listening to incredible artists and feeling inspired. Being creative, writing, building and arranging songs is what I’m passionate about and it’s something I’m continuously doing.
TSWS: Are you writing other songs already?
Absolutely, I’m always writing and working on different songs and projects!
TSWS: I know you don't perform too much but have you put any other thought into that side of being an artist?
I actually love performing, I started in a musical theater space so I’ve always enjoyed being on stage. I’m definitely looking to perform my own songs and connect with an audience in that way.
TSWS: Congrats on this new single! It is beautiful! What would you say people can expect from this song?
Thank you! People can expect something different from what I’ve done before, I love to play around with my music and not follow a formula in my writing. They can expect to hear, much like you stated, a colorful production, vocal layering, honest lyrics, and just the hard work that was put into this project! I’m very thankful for anyone that listens to it and I just hope they enjoy it as much as I did creating it!
