A Fresh And Colorful Track From JoeJas
A fresh release from JoeJas gives off a colorful and experimental approach to hip hop that combines elements of indie pop and a youthful and unique energy and swagger that lets him deliver something that's memorable and feels welcomingly creative.
"Lax" shows such a love for his craft that becomes increasingly more evident the further into the song that you get.
This track has surprises lurking around almost every corner and portrays such an amazing youth in songwriting that knows less boundaries than its predecessors.
This combination makes for something special and to be able to deliver something that goes through so much lyrically in one song that you want to listen to it again just to catch everything is impressive.
I love the aspect of bringing something that has so much almost childlike comic book undertones to it and spinning it into something that hints towards a certain kind of maturity.
It makes things really fun and that's what this song is.
You find yourself paying attention to the lyrics quite a bit and the music itself is composed of these textures that bounce off of each other along with that beat so that you get this very pop oriented style that blends with the hip hop.
So this whole thing is kind of in a class all its own but not in an elitist way, in more of a creative freedom type of way.
He's not trying to be anybody else or sound like anybody else and I think that happens all too often in the world of music in all genres so to hear someone that surprises you and crosses genres so easily is refreshing.
Also this is a really catchy song that is super danceable and memorable not to mention the music video that accompanies the single which only shows more of this artist's presence.
And I think the most important thing of all is that JoeJas comes through with a ton of character.
This is part of why you get attached to the song and the artist in a way as well.
There's that character that is right there in your face. He grows on you more and more as the song plays on but you get hooked into it pretty much right off the bat.
We're not sure if he put the music video together himself but it was also shot and edited with that same almost whimsical fun feeling that the song has undertoned and as well so it feels like he put it together himself.
There are tons of different kinds of people that will dig this track and it's well worth your time and most likely your playlist as well.
