JohnJohn Drops A Fresh Banger
A new track dropped from JohnJohn delivers a refreshing cross of an electro-pop and dance undertone blended with hip-hop and rap which gives a unique atmosphere for you to fall into and groove with but the biggest thing is that it's all delivered with an impactful sort of character that you end up getting attached to and it's not without a great swagger to go right along with it.
"Dangerous" has a great way of bending genres and throughout it you do still get a heavy hip-hop vibe of course because there are certain kinds of classic hip-hop synths and keys that are used throughout the track however, it also takes this neon-lit electronic feel and brings that into the game as well and that is what makes the track all its own.
One of my favorite things about this track is the lyrical phrasing and his whole flow and approach to the song itself because the way that he puts his words together gives them their own rhythm within the beat of the song and that is a really cool approach to wrapping in general.
This is a track you definitely get attached to quickly and it also has this kind of cinematic backbone in its own way where you can hear this track in the scene of a film for sure.
What's just as cool as the song itself is the accompanying music video because the visuals that you get in terms of the flashes of colors and being in the driver seat of a fast car, flashes of money piles, and these great and sort of intense graphics that are scattered throughout it all go along with the character of this track so the aesthetic is built into the video as well.
The production on this track is stellar and it hits really hard when it wants to but it's those vocals that lock in the track because they're a bit aggressive but they also have the right kind of attitude for the track itself because it's fun but it also has that edginess to it that the song needs to push the envelope.
I love how this song has this sort of crisp and clean feel to it but it also has little hints of grittiness in its underbelly as well and again, that all comes down to that persona and character that it delivers which is probably the most important thing about this track.
You can certainly tell that JohnJohn puts just as much into creating a music video as he does creating his music and that is something that shows his passion for the craft itself.
Upon listening to the single I had to take a little bit of a deep dive into the artist's back catalog and I'm glad that I did because there are a few other singles released previously that are from 2018 but also show a little bit of a different side of the artist's approach however, having said that, "Dangerous" is a whole new level for JohnJohn and he's definitely heading in the right direction in terms of the evolution of his music and songwriting style.
This track was an absolute banger from beginning to end and it's something that sticks in your head for hours or even days after the song has ended and the only way to satiate that is to listen to it again.
Check this track out as soon as you can and don't be afraid to turn it nice and loud because this single really bumps.
