Katiuska McLean Drops A Classic Pop Single
A heavy-handed pop single from Katiuska McLean absolutely hits with a blend of classic, vintage, almost '80s tendencies, bringing on bouts of nostalgia, while still giving us this powerful and much more current, filmic pop overtone that feels good to listen to, mostly because not only is it a danceable, but it's a song about love.
I know that's kind of a vague statement, so let me dig a little deeper with you. This track is really about loving another person for all of who they are. The ups, downs, ugliness, prettiness, flaws, and all.
Relationships are far from perfect, no matter what kind it may be. You have to take the bad with the good. Sometimes your significant other will come home after a terrible day, and you're the person they'll spill the beans to. I think that's important.
This single focuses on being there for that person even through the bad times. Having someone to lean on is really important in a relationship. This is a beautiful love song that doesn't just focus on the being-in-love part of it. It is more about being there through everything.
I found that to be incredibly refreshing. This is super relatable. Anyone in a relationship can completely understand where she's coming from. She articulates those lyrics in such a straightforward manner that she tells the story perfectly from her perspective.
She's the one that wants to be the everything. She wanted to be known that she's there for the other person to lean on or vent to. Throughout all of this, she's going to be happy because it gives her this deeper sense of purpose, and it feels good to be a bit of a rock in the relationship sometimes.
It feels good to know that the other person can lean on you and will when they feel like it.
Nothing about this song is forced. It is all beautifully done and has such a danceable approach to it. It is high energy, with loads of beautifully layered vocals that come in in harmonies and with a very robust tone.
The song is called "I Care," and Katiuska really hits the nail on the head when it comes to self-expression and just delivering that sort of pop star vibe.
This is a super engaging track with classic synths and keys, loads of drive, but it blends the element of edginess with a softer, more colorful overtone, which works amazingly throughout its course.
Another thing that kind of feels classic about this track is its arrangement. It's got a great flow to it and an awesome sort of cinematic bridge towards the end of the song before it hits that last blowout chorus.
It all works super well, and one of the best ways to listen to this song for the first time around is by watching the accompanying music video.
The music video is also, to me, sort of classic. It's got this '90s feel to it and features a lot of her charismatic visuals.
The music video showcases the artist's ability to bring the full package to the table.
I think that's really important as well. She's got a lot of elements to her that scream pop star.
The video showcases her doing all kinds of great dances on a stage, getting up close and personal with the camera, and more.
I definitely really enjoy a song that gets personal and real, while still keeping that pop overtone to it. She really knows how to drive a chorus and get those hooks embedded in your brain.
She also puts on an amazing show visually, and I think it all came together with a sort of graceful aesthetic.
This was an incredibly fun pop banger that you certainly don't want to miss, especially if you love that old-school and new-school blend of pop approaches.
I think that's part of her strong suit: taking some of her influences in pop music and bringing them to the table on a more current platform.
Don't miss out on this single.
