A Vast Single Release From Lane Lines
With a brand new release, Lane Lines brings out an incredibly full body feel boasted by layers of vocals that melt together as one and create an atmosphere for you to float around in.
"Like to Look Sad" is not only a bit personal of course, but comes through as a sort of cinematic opus in a way.
The single features a colorful array of synths and textures that come together in a rainbow of sound and is portrayed in a flowing pop format.
This track has some layers to it for sure and not just musically, and everything seems to fall together without a hitch.
The song came out incredibly vast and lush as the artist surely knows how to use her voice as an instrument so that there's no open space left for the imagination because hers ends up brimming over throughout the song's course.
This of course is quite a beautiful thing because oftentimes songs feel like they might be missing something but in her case certainly not.
Between the vocals and the music everything is kind of wondrous in a way and the song somehow, being so cinematic and almost theatrical feeling, can seem nostalgic from time to time.
There's something about it that makes you think back on memories and that aspect of it is very welcoming and warm.
And this track is warm. It's like laying in an open field in the middle of a warm summer day with the sun hitting your face and the breeze blowing by.
It also has this little touch of edginess to it that lurks just beneath the surface which kind of gives it a rounded feel.
You can tell there's a real love for her craft that shines through from beginning to end and it's a fun feel good single that really has the ability to capture your attention from across the room.
Lane Lines is quite an enjoyable showcasing of a youth and songwriting that bears less boundaries than pop music has in the past.
And we need more music like that. Music that is more freeing and open.
This release was lovable and one of my favorite forms of escapism.
So come escape with Lane Lines.
