A New Song and Video from Le Concorde

A new single from Le Concorde brings out a lush and very vibrant pop approach that beckons classic soundscapes from pop hits of the 1980s utilizing vintage synths and keys to drive that aesthetic home.
"Corpus Christi" has an amazing groove to it, so it's completely danceable, but it's the layered and lush approach that wraps itself around you.
There is a wonderful shine and polish to this track. It makes you want to get up and start dancing around the living room. It's got a little bit of a drive to it; it's upbeat, and it feels colorful and a bit vivacious.
Along with the great synthesizers and keys come some guitars that add to the rhythm and groove of the song, making it unbelievably danceable, and all of this has a hint of swagger to it as well.
You can tell this was a fun track to record and release as that energy and brightness burst out of every note.
This is the kind of song that feels like it could have been played during the end credits of a comedy movie from the '80s.
It gave me heavy bouts of nostalgia, and I thoroughly enjoyed how well that feel and aesthetic was completely nailed from beginning to end.
The vocals are robust and feel good to listen to. They're harmonious and add even more color to the already shimmering single.
There's never a dull moment here. The entire track has layers of textures with a combination of digital and natural instrumentation, along with vocals that give everything such a robust and pleasurable approach.
It's all a little bit addicting, honestly.
One of my favorite aspects of this whole release is the music video that comes along with the single. This solidified my nostalgia as the whole video is presented in a sort of eight-bit reality with classic posters on the walls of a bedroom and an old school computer playing vintage video games.
I love this whole thing because it just builds to that atmosphere that the song delivers in the first place, and I feel like the video did an outstanding job of delivering even more of that classic feel.
I also like this sort of youthful feel, and that comes from not only its brightness but its energy levels as well. The energy is way up there, and this is infectious because it makes you feel good. These are some of the aspects of the song that make you want to get up and dance, as I mentioned earlier.
Singer-songwriter Steven Becker is at the helm of this project and, as far as we can tell, likely performs all the instrumentation and produces the songs as well.
This kind of blows my mind because I can't imagine how one brings a song from imagination to fruition on his own.
Especially a song of this nature because there's so much going on. Again, there are many layers happening here that give the song its gusto, and it's a lot of textural balancing.
Whatever his process is, he was able to really build this song into something special.
As far as we know, this single should be part of an upcoming full-length album called Second Mansions, releasing later this year, and if it's got more of this aesthetic, I'm all for it.
Apparently, this single and upcoming album comes after a nearly 15-year Hiatus for music for the artist, so this seems like quite an incredible comeback.
This was an excellent track and really portrayed the artist's love for classic and vintage pop music.
Coming from a VHS collector, I can tell you the soundscape was perfect.
Check this single out, and keep an eye out for the upcoming record release.
Grew up in the '80s; you certainly won't be sorry.
