LEURAS Comes Through With A Beautiful Release

A single release from Leuras comes through with quite a beautiful soundscape that brings together an atmosphere you end up floating right alongside as the lyrics can be descriptive and the music can be flowing.
"Like A Dream" it's quite an appropriate title for the song although it has its own meaning lyrically, it fits the music and soundscape of the track quite well also.
The song is something of a contemporary rock single and it features electric guitar and live drums, along with other instrumentation and beautiful vocals but what grabs you some of the time is this bone instrument that I'm assuming is a cello which appears a lot during the course of the song.
The chorus of this track as a whole, is incredibly memorable and you can really get washed away with it and its gorgeous approach and texture. That cello adds a beautiful layer of sound to the song and helps that natural flow come together.
Lyrically, the track is detailed. It describes inner thoughts and feelings so well that you feel it was all meant just for you.
This is a beautiful connection because the song is so relatable and the way she puts it together makes you wonder if this was cathartic for her to write.
I consider the lyrics to this track to be very poetic in all honesty. The song is semi metaphoric but it's also very straightforward at the same time.
She was really able to let a lot out during this song, and that's what gives it so much weight.
This is also what makes it so incredibly relatable as I mentioned earlier. There is some struggle happening there and I feel like that's something that is expressed very well, especially in terms of how vulnerable she lets herself be.
I think it takes a lot of guts to be able to release a song like this and to be that vulnerable on the track. While a lot of the rest of us have inner thoughts and struggles that we go through normally, a lot of us do not know how to put those thoughts into the right words.
When you hear a song like this, you connect with it because you understand it. Even though you might not be able to weave your thoughts into these kinds of words or poetry, let alone words of music for that matter, it doesn't mean you don't understand what's going on.
The whole thing has a beautiful atmosphere, and you can get wrapped up in it super easily.
The melodies that come through vocally are outstanding. Sometimes they're just at the end of certain verses or the beginning of choruses but either way, she comes up with these little vocal tweaks throughout the song that change up and add a little flavor. Those little extra melody lines are so memorable to me.
This was absolutely gorgeous from beginning to end. It does indeed actually feel like a dream and for her to describe her situation and how that felt like a dream so well is enticing.
This song was alluring and had such a vibrant and genuine personality that you can't really turn away from it.
If you really like emotionally thriving and driving music that can get under your skin, in a good way, and stick with you then this single is most certainly for your ears.
Now, having said all that, the song is not just a single but also released as an EP called South Van Ness and it's not the only track on the record that uses emotional weight and premise.
The whole release has so much depth that there are just beautiful layers to it all.
If it were up to me, I would suggest starting with this single and then following it up with the full EP because "Like A Dream" very well sets a premise and standard for what you're about to hear on the record so, if you like the single then you're going to be completely into this whole EP.
Either way, you do it, make sure you have time to give this a listen because it is something that will stick with you and I'm sure we'll affect you.
Stunning performances and inventive use of vocals and songwriting across the board.
Check out Leuras and see where it takes you.
