A fresh single release from LOVY brings out a unique but refreshing blend of classic R&B mixed with disco, pop, and so much more, which gives the song loads of color, layers of shimmering texture, and a bright soundscape that becomes very quickly addictive.

"Edge" features classic disco elements like violin samples, keys, guitars, and classic, vintage beats that really serve a deep, pocketed groove that is completely undeniable.

I love that blend of old and new school approaches. Being able to take a disco pop approach and bring it into a current playing field is genius. She really does an amazing job of delivering an aesthetic that is familiar and nostalgic, but refreshing it so that it's all her own.

Her vocal approach is also very smooth over this whole thing. She comes up with some amazing melodies and hooks that just bounce around in your brain for hours or even days after the song has ended.

There are horn elements, insanely walking, flavorful bass lines that really add more jive to the whole thing, and her energy and attitude throughout this track are engulfing.

She really delivers a little bit of swagger, bending notes and singing in a sort of animated way so that you have a liveliness to the whole approach.

She makes it fun, and you can even hear how much fun she must have had tracking it.

This is the kind of song you want to go see performed live, simply because of the way she captures that kind of energy and aesthetic on record so well.

The percussion is alive and breathing. You have great kicks and claps that follow along, and it's damn near impossible not to dance to this track.

Again, she really brings that disco pop element to the forefront and makes it her own, so if you're driving in the car, you'll be shaking your butt in your seat, but I suggest putting it on the stereo in the living room, so you can move that couch back and be ready to get down.

This whole thing delivers the entire aesthetic. The single nails exactly what it aimed for, and I found it to be outstanding.

Of course, there are plenty of other pop influences coming into play here, but that disco element is always right there, in your face, making you start moving.

She's got some outstanding vocal harmonies that also bend and sway, creating an almost dreamlike flow, and she's got amazing control over her voice.

It's not just about the way she bends those notes here and there, but also about the way she harmonizes those tracks, how she delivers them with personality and heart, and how the entire song also boasts a lot of character.

I feel like it's that character that you end up getting attached to the most.

The singles got some synth pads that are kind of like strings held out in the background of the song, giving it a vast undertone, and there is an amazing gusto delivered throughout its course.

As far as we can tell, this is a bit of a different direction for the artist, and I think it's a great one because she feels completely natural on this track.

It's like she was meant to sing this song.

End up with Jonesy on this one, and I feel like it's definitely a match made in music heaven.

Lovy is known for releasing tracks that have a lot of pop overcoat, dreamy undertones, and a sort of silkiness to them that becomes alluring.

This track serves as an amazing introduction to the artist if you haven't really heard of her yet, but I also suggest dipping into her back catalog because she's got some amazing remixes, singles, and collaborations that are must-hears.

LOVY is absolutely an artist paving her own path in the pop world, doing so in a youthful, vibrant way, coming through with a vivacious yet smooth and soulful soundscape that is quite infectious.

So, take a deep dive into this track and the rest of her stuff, and you absolutely won't be disappointed.

Dig in and see what it does for you.
