An Interview With Maro DēLo
We had a chance to sit with Maro DeLo and talk about his new single "Untouchable". Here's what happened.
TSWS: Hi Maro! Thank you for speaking with me today!
It's a pleasure as always!
TSWS: You recently released a new song! Tell us about it!
Yes I have! It's called "Untouchable," a tune about not letting any of life's grievances or distractions get in the way of making your dreams come true.
TSWS: How did the idea for the song come about?
"Untouchable" came into creation when the co writer Gary Miller and I, coincidentally, came around the bend of getting over our separate breakups. We both share the power of being able to sublimate our negativity into creating music. So, we put our heart and soul into an upbeat song about not letting things get in the way of our goals.
TSWS: What has been inspiring you lately?
As always, I pull from what's really going on in my life at the time I'm writing the song; when writers are most passionate about their subject matter. Even though I may release a song months or even over a year after I was feeling those emotions, it still serves as a great platform for my fans to get to know me through my stories and hopefully they can also relate to the themes and grow or heal from my songs as well.
TSWS: How do you stay motivated to keep creating?
Life experiences. I feel that writers should keep this as a high priority. As someone who has caught themselves spending too much time in their head, being social and adventurous is a lifesaver in terms of motivation to create. I also love the recording process, it is so magical to work with a producer that you connect with. I am currently working with David Ivory on a new EP and I can't underestimate the joy and positive energy that happens in those sessions. Another huge motivation is getting out there and performing for my fans, it is so satisfying for me to see people appreciating my music after putting so much blood, sweat and tears into it.
TSWS: What has been the biggest game changer in your career this far?
The biggest game changer so far has been the increase in my vocal range within the past year. It simply can't be underestimated. My extended vocal range has really set me up to succeed as a performer. I plan on gigging, going live and I am working on an East Coast Tour in the fall, it's time to reap the rewards and have some fun singing in front of an audience!
TSWS: Do you have any projects you are working on that you want us to know about?
I have upcoming releases "Find Your Own Way" and "Magic Garden" set to drop in early June and July, along with an EP called "Everything We Ever Said" to follow up with come this late summer/early fall.
