Maryann Connolly Delivers An Authentic New Single
A beautiful new single from Maryann Connolly most certainly delivers a heavy bout of honesty and some descriptive storytelling along the way, all in the form of a cinematic rock single that breaks down some borders in terms of genre as it begins with a more personalized and sort of stripped down instead of guitars and vocals that grow into a little bit of a harder-hitting soundscape later on.
This track doesn't get heavy by any means, but it does have a bit of a rock backbone to it, with live percussion that hits hard during some of the choruses, and also helps give a lot of drive to the track itself.
One of the things I love about this song is its cinematic feel. As the song unfolds, it has a way of growing in intensity at times, but also building instrumentally along the way.
There are string sections that come in and really give that cinematic aspect a more bountiful feel; this also plays amazingly on the emotion behind the track and the sentiment as well.
The song is called 'Etched In Love", and when you listen to it, you can tell that it came from some authentic place.
This is a lush track with layers of those guitars, strings, that live percussion, and of course her vocals that really give the song such character and strength.
There's something about this that feels kind of '90s to me it sounds almost like a band that he would hear in the underground late 90s rock scene.
It sounds like the kind of song that you would hear in the scene of a film and immediately go try and find the band.
Again, this has a lot to do with that emotional element, and it's really displayed in a sort of elegant way throughout the entire song.
You quickly get pulled into this track. It is very easy to get engulfed by the soundscape of it all.
When you listen to it, you get the feeling that this is someone who puts pieces of herself in her music, can really tell stories with a little bit of depth and description, but never loses sight of the emotion or feeling that it was all born from.
I think this is really important because when you hear songs like this, you end up relating to them.
You can tell this is a song about love and the journey people take with each other in relationships.
It's a beautiful sentiment and one that speaks volumes for someone who understands life in general. Love and relationships are never just black and white. It's a bit messier than that, but you always go into it wholeheartedly.
I feel like a lot of the song revolves around that massive journey you take with another person when you are in love.
One of the things that really hooks you into this track is her melodies. The vocal melodies throughout the song definitely give you a little bit of a hook, but again, it's very emotionally backed.
There's a vastness in the undertone of the song, a little bit of sadness throughout its course, but a light at the end of the tunnel all at the same time.
I found it outstanding how she was able to display all that within one song.
By the time you get to the last chorus of the song, it's absolutely full swing. There are strings, layers of guitars, and the drums are full force. The vocals are at their most intense point in the song, and I think this is brilliant because the track hits those heavy-handed choruses throughout it, but by the time it gets to that last chunk of the song itself, it's very climactic.
The song has a lot of heart. It also showcases plenty of character because of how she's able to portray an articulate her lyrics into telling that story from a bit of a personal perspective, but also because of how she's able to create the music that was able to set the mood for that story so well.
When creating songs, those two things go hand in hand, and Maryann was brilliant at it.

Where did this single come from and what is it about?
It's about a family member who was in love. They got tattoos of each other’s names. It's their journey back from heartbreak. Etched is permanent but their love wasn’t.
I am hearing a few approaches here. Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences is Christian Aguilera, Dua Lipa Gracie Abrams, and Ed Sheeran
Are you performing live right now?
I do local events and vendors. I hope to be performing internationally within the next year.
When and how did you start as an artist exactly?
It started in Middle School with my zany personality. The students weren’t accepting and I felt invisible. I poured myself into music and playing guitar overcoming many academic and social challenges. My music career started when I was 14 years old, and a designer asked me at a talent show “Would you like to come with me to Couture Fashion Week and perform in New York City?” I’ve done fashion shows ever since that inspired me to write new songs.
What's next for you? Working on new material?
I will be releasing my next single in August. It is called “Crashing Down” about my recovery from a car accident. It is not a sad song, but an empowerment for anyone who has ever had a “Crashing Down” moment, and how their fate changes.

Yes I work with a producer on this release.
What would you say people can expect to hear on this release?
The lyrics will make you realize you are not alone in your feelings of —love. Love is symbolized in many ways and “etch” in your heart like a permanent tattoo. Even with a breakup, the pain remains along with the etch.
