MIN MIN LIGHT Drops a Full Album

A new album release from Min Min Light brings out a refreshing and expansive tonality with a combination of indie rock, progressive, contemporary, and even a dream rock influence soundscape that all managed to come together with this natural and forward-moving flow and throughout it all, you start to pick up on the sense that this is actually a concept album of sorts and the songs have a way of interconnecting with each other.
The self-titled LP features a unique and experimental form of rock approaches that comes through with this almost cinematic undertone and you end up getting engulfed by everything that's happening.
This is such a refreshing record as it has an amazing way of blending textures together to build these atmospheres that you end up falling right into.
The guitar tones change and vary between songs and certain ones have an edgier and harder rock feel while others let you float alongside them as they take you on these little journeys.
This is the kind of record that you have to listen to as a whole because if you just check out one or two tracks then you're not getting anywhere near the full spectrum of what the full record actually has to offer.
The vocals deliver a wonderful extra layer that is so melodic and flowing that it's almost as if at times, the vocals are used as instruments themselves.
I definitely love this combination of genres all wrapped up into one big record because it's a bit of an escape and it can pull you away from your surroundings and put you in a different place altogether for a good chunk of time.
You get elements of a sort of 90s indie rock vibe, a lot of the songs are coated in this wonderful pop color and by the time the record's over you have to snap yourself back into reality again.
This was beyond refreshing and it's been a while since I've listened to a record that took all my attention and had so many beautiful layers of sounds that still keep to this rock backbone but also have such a wonderfully experimental and almost psychedelic underbelly at times
The guitar work is outstanding through the whole thing and I feel like that's one of the more important aspects of the record.
The energy levels are really excellent too because it's a great balance between the instrumentation and the vocals. Every element in this song seems to push the next.
Each instrument complements the other and you can tell that this is a band that has a real love for their craft.
When I say that I don't just mean they love playing guitar or singing, drumming or playing the bass, I mean that they love writing songs together for the sake of doing it. Creating something that someone else can soak in in a particular way is brilliant.
The record is thick with character and surprises around the corners and the record as a whole feels like it's alive and breathing in a sense.
You can tell that there was a lot of attention to detail that went into the creation of this album but it still has that thick personality and liveliness to it, riddled with instrumentation that brings warmth and a vastness to everything.
Again, it's very cinematic and the whole record does indeed take you on this massive journey.
Strongly suggest listening to the full record which spans about 42 minutes or so and do it with headphones on because then you can really soak in all these notes and textures that are floating around in the ether of some of these songs.
Dive into this album as soon as you can and see how it affects you.
