An Exclusive Release From Miter
A new release from Miter brings out a very personal and somewhat detailed vibe along with this almost rustic and Southern undertone to deliver something that feels cinematic and can wrap you up and keep you right where it wants to.
"The Color of Blood" has some beautiful layers guitar-wise and the vocals come through with a classic undertone which makes everything feel super one-on-one and very personal.
One of my favorite aspects about this track is how it builds both musically and intensity the deeper in you go because as you listen further into the song and it unfolds, everything becomes bigger. There are more notes and a lusher array of instrumentation that start coming into play which lets this song feel like it's alive and breathing in its own way.
The arrangement on this track is really amazing because it takes you on this little musical journey and the whole thing feels like an escape because it pulls you away from your surroundings and puts you in a different place in a different storyline all together just for a few minutes of time.
This was completely refreshing because it happened so seldom that it felt good to have it now.
You get those Southern and almost Americana tonalities throughout this track, especially in the guitars which have a great set of effects on them giving them that extra twine.
The entire thing has an impact and you find that the song has a strange way of sort of swimming around in the air that surrounds you and that is how you end up getting washed away with this track.
At times the vocals can become animated while others feel more emotionally driven because there's a story being told and this is a huge part of how the track delivers a very specific kind of character and personality.
I love the way the percussion drives this track because in the beginning it is indeed very cinematic and as the track plays out it becomes more invasive and helps push the song to where it needs to be.
This is one of those songs where every element of it ends up complimenting the next and so together it creates an atmosphere that you really don't want to leave.
There was definitely a lot of thought and attention to detail during the creation of the song but it also has this heart and again, this character to it that never goes away and I think that may be one of the most important things about this track.
This song certainly left a mark and I have to suggest listening to this one with headphones on because then you can soak in all the layers and textures that are happening throughout this track.
It's something that you almost need to listen to a few times just to grasp everything that's going on.
Again, a beautiful growth and arrangement that builds in levels of intensity and lets the song just invade your mind.
This is indeed a song that will stick with you for hours or even days after it's ended and the only way to satiate that is to go back and listen to it again.
There's an element about this track that has a nomadic sense and is sort of freeing in a way but still has this bit of existentialism attached to it.
You have to listen to it to understand and I think that the details of the lyrics explain a lot because there is a meaning and purpose behind this track which I'm not just going to give away right now of course.
However, if you really listen to the song it is about loss, heartbreak, new love, and healing.
At least, that's how I took it.
Have a listen for yourself and see how it affects you.
