MITER REUTRNS WITH AN ADDICTIVE NEW SINGLE
Miter returns with a new single that works in a very particular way as it brings together elements of a 90s alternative pop with piano-based elements, a driving beat, and metaphoric but honest lyrics that paint a bit of a picture and give off some emotion with that.
"Lies Remaining" has a certain kind of beauty to it and the lyrics have some darkened edgy approaches but again, it's done poetically so it's quite graceful, and even those lyrics back in this classic sort of alt-pop or even post-punk styles.
The track also brings in some really vintage-sounding synthesizers and in combination with the electric piano does create this sort of robust atmosphere and with the beat moving fast and driving, it comes through with a certain kind of energy and you can draw from that.
This was a very cool song especially in his production because it sounds like it was a lot of fun to put together. It had a lot of digital elementation to it with the beats, synths, and keys, but the way the vocals are performed feels so natural and they are riddled with this little bit of an in-room reverb kind of effect that makes them a little bit distanced.
This gives the song not only a bit more emotion and wetness but it also boasts a little bit of a live performance vibe. The tonality of everything works in such a way that you pick up on all the edginess of the track but it also has this flow to it and the whole thing is quite addictive honestly.
Again, the lyrics are poetic and you can feel and hear the emotion behind those and how there's a bit of a struggle involved and this is part of what makes it even more authentic.
The song has an intensity right from the get-go and you can feel that in the music.
As the track unfolds the intensity has a way of growing and the music follows suit. Those synthesizers become more layered, there are extra vocal tracks involved, and everything becomes lusher and more full-bodied.
This was a bit theatrical and also a bit cinematic if you ask me. There is that expansive and kind of vast undertone to the song and that is semi-common with Miter as is that level of honesty and poetic lyrical approach.
The tones of the synthesizers and keys are a really key element with this track as well because not only do they help the entire aesthetic of the song come through the way it was meant to but they add to some of the drive of the track because it's meant to be emotional and intense.
When you have a release from Miter, you can certainly expect that honesty, that poetic approach, and the authenticity that comes with the music and the lyrics.
These are the biggest factors that make his music so addictive and so infectious. I constantly look for artists or bands that can express inner thoughts and emotions in a way that is articulated a little differently than the norm.
Not only does Miter do this but the project is also done in a way that features music that is outside the box just enough to push the envelope.
This track is no exception to any of those rules and if you are a fan of '80s and '90s synth pop, alternative pop, a little post-punk, or any of that stuff, then you're definitely going to like the music of Miter because it embodies all of those things and more.
Most certainly take a listen to this track and see how it affects you because it definitely affected me as does most of Miter's music.
