Neolithic Has A Few And Gets Brutally Honest
A fresh release from Neolithic takes a whole new direction as the artist takes on a slightly brooding but crazy honest perspective and lets it all out in a way only an artist of his expressive experience could.
"Sick" is composed of a classic hip hop sound with jazz undertones and a full feel and the track starts off letting you into his world and relationships with a tasteful and up front approach lyrically, and an addictive phrasing style that really compells you to pay attention.
The song boasts a massive chorus with vocal harmonies and plenty of soul before diving back into its second verse which hits even harder and catches you even more than the first did.
The thing with this track is that the hooks are excellent and passionate but the rapping is what really gets you.
The music video that comes along with the song is perfect. He starts off at a table in a bar for he first verse and chorus then moves to the bar itself and has a few drinks and by the second verse he's audibly tipsy and brutally straight forward.
I think that's what this is all about. Coping mechanisms and how we deal with whatever issues we are having at the time.
For Neolithic, in this circumstance, he went to have some drinks and talk about it in the best way he knows how. Through his music.
He is the type of artist that gets whatever he has off his chest through his music and it works wonders for anyone that can relate. Even if it's not an exact relation, you get it. You feel it.
He comes through with that frustration and clarity you can only muster up for glimpses at a time in your head. It never really gets out.
Take a few shots and check out "Sick" from Neolithic.
