Nick Vivid Releases A Beautifully Addictive Soul-Pop Single

The latest release from Nick Vivid brings out a beautiful blend of textures that come together to create this smooth and flowy aesthetic, and it incorporates some outstanding synth and key work along with these alluring and high-pitched vocals, double-tracked to add thickness and an almost inviting atmosphere to boot.

"Volunteer" is Brilliant in the way that it comes across. The soundscape of this song showcases such a cross of vintage and fresh textures that you do get these little hints of classic soul, elements of funk, and this touch of lo-fi feel that somehow makes the song seem more personal.

The keys are wonderfully done, and the choice of sounds and tones for the synths and keys is amazing and works perfectly for the song itself.

Along this ride, you have vocals that really went to the song with great melodies and a unique approach as Nick constantly uses his head voice for the hooks, along with once again, those double-tracked approaches, letting them come across even more impactful, digging that melody into your brain.

It's very smart songwriting, and there's a lot of attention to the details of those tones throughout this track. Everything was well thought out, and you can tell that some of the influences the artist encompasses are indeed old school or vintage, and plenty of that has to do with the approach and how he's able to capture this classic neo soul sound so well.

One of the interesting things about this single is the precaution. The percussion and beat itself is a little outside the box, but also helps push that neo soul and almost funk-like factor even further.

There's a lot of snare going on, and I love that. The way the drums and percussion are recorded is also a bit flat, giving it that classic soundscape as well.

There's also a guitar that's clean and has a little bit of a chorus style effect over it that flows throughout the track, and that also helps it give it a bit of smoothness or silkiness.

Everything about this track has that element. The whole song gives the aesthetic of something that's smooth and has an allure that you can't really turn away from.

At times, the vocals make me think of a cross between old school Prince and some Sade.

Just the way the vocals have this calming and mellow tonality to them and how they are performed is something that puts you at ease while giving the song a little extra flair or color.

So you have this song that hints at funk, soul, jazz, R&B, and more, and this is part of why the song stands out to me.

It is done with a love for those genres and a passion for recording. I'm not sure if the artist is performing everything, but this is one of those songs that feels like it was one person's vision and that person was able to bring it to fruition somehow.

This was a song that had a particular texture to it, bringing that warmth and flowy vibe along with plenty of soul to the table.

I thoroughly enjoyed how this was put together and how it thinks slightly outside the box.

Still bringing familiarity to his pop sensibility but creating something that isn't bound by particular genres is the name of the game, and Nick Vivid pulls it off amazingly.

The single is a glimpse of an upcoming full-length album release set for the 24th of October via Mega Platinum Records.

I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more of this album as soon as it releases, and so should you.

Check this one out right now, and do it with headphones on, because then you can really pick up on everything.
