Nothing But Silence - "Mind"
“Mind,” the new single from Nothing But Silence, has something about the way it leans into that old-school post-punk vibe. Moody, atmospheric, and a little bit haunting. But what surprised me most was how effortlessly it blends that sound with indie pop. It’s got this edge to it, and a subtle darkness that lingers, but at the same time, it’s super catchy.
“MIND” was fun to make, I didn’t really have an influence when I was producing the song. I try to mix a lot different stuff of when I’m making songs such as like the vibe, style, and mode. I was really thinking of that scene in the movie “Forest Gump” when he taught Elvis how to dance lol. So I decided to make a song that I could dance to similar what I saw in the movie." - Nothing But Silence
Nothing But Silence creates a sound that feels both vintage and fresh. It’s got this timeless quality, like it could fit just as easily on a mixtape from the ’80s as it could on a modern indie playlist.
Now that “Mind” is out on all platforms, it’s one of those tracks I know I’ll be returning to.
