A Warm New Single From Ohly
A new release from Ohly brings out such a warm tonality that it feels like you sat with a friend and caught up when the song has ended.
"Maybe It's You" is a very personal and one-on-one feeling track that focuses on this classic folk and Americana soundscape and it brings out such a cinematic feel that manages to swing right into these memorable choruses. The song has a way of sort of engulfing you.
The way he tells his story in this release is very unique and paints quite a bit of a picture in your head which isn't always easy to do but he really pulled this off in a charming way.
You can also feel his passionate delivery and the emotional backbone it all began from bleeding through with every second of this song.
It's pretty astounding how the track builds into such delightful hooks that end up bouncing around in your head long after the song has ended.
This track also gives you the feeling that you want to see him live because the energy on the recording is really spot on and feels almost like the whole thing was a live recording itself.
It's that feeling of players feeding off of each other's energies as they're performing the song that gives it that sound and that kind of thing is almost like lightning in a bottle.
Well rehearsed lightning in a bottle anyway.
But all the same, it's not super easy to capture that kind of energy on recording all the time this is really just nailed.
I think that this is a really great combination of a song that feels radio friendly in terms of being catchy and having a pop undertone to it underneath that twang, but also that theatrical aspect of it coming from someplace real showing that whole time.
This is a very beautiful song and you can tell that Ohly clearly has a love for the genre and for songwriting because that is a very evident aspect throughout the song but it also makes a difference.
To hear someone's passion for the craft in the song itself is something not everybody can attain, especially on a recording.
This one is definitely for people that like music that makes you think or feel which I think a lot of music really should.
For those who love folk or Americana, acoustic based instrumentation and a full band swing this is absolutely perfect for you.
More than worth your time and your playlist.
