An Interview With Peter Reckell

We had time to catch up with Peter Reckell to talk shop, here's what happened!
TSWS: We are fanning out right now because we LOVED you as Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives!! This is so exciting to get to chat with you Peter! And now you have a new song out called “Under the Mistletoe” which is the sweetest! What was the inspiration for it?
Peter: Thank you. Bo was a big part of my life and always will be. I was fortunate enough to play such a great character for so many years! My wife, Kelly, has kept every card I've ever written to her. She said she used my sentiments as inspiration while writing "Under The Mistletoe" for me to sing. She also knows I'm a fan of Jason Aldean, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffet, Tom Petty and Johnny Cash! So she's infused a bit of their flavor into it.
TSWS: We love the holidays! How do you remain creative through the season?!
Peter: Christmas has always been a special season. First of all, just spending quality time with family is important and since I'm currently in the southern hemisphere, I'll be doing some camping which I love. Being in touch with Mother Nature has always helped me stay centered.
TSWS: With how busy you are, how do you balance your career and personal life?
Peter: These days it's mostly been about my personal life. I took time from my career to be with my daughter before she's off on her own journey. I'm just now getting back into acting and I'm excited about working again.
TSWS: What is a beautiful piece of advice that has carried you through this year as an artist?
Peter: The more in touch I am with my family and the love we share, the more I benefit as an actor. I have more life to pull from in my work. COVID has been tough on everyone, and people are losing family and friends. It wasn't COVID related, but I've recently lost both of my parents, so it's even more important for me to embrace time with loved ones.
TSWS: We still can’t believe we got to interview you! Please tell our readers where they can go and support “Under the Mistletoe” and follow YOU on all your current and upcoming projects!
Peter: Hey, thanks for the interview. It's been a pleasure.
