A Brand-New Single Drop From Plaid Forest

A new single release from Plaid Forest truly embodies a melodically rich approach, launching harmonies that become deeply embedded in your brain and linger there for days after the song has ended, all while utilizing a unique and almost graceful vocal style.
"Stolen" is a track that portrays a lot of personal attributes. Still, it does so in a way that comes with elements of jazz, heavy rock, grunge, alternative rock, and plenty more all rolled into this one song so, it ends up having thick layers of personality and texture throughout the entire thing.
The track starts with more of a mellow feel but you start to get an idea of the melodies and the songwriting approach. Those personal effects start coming through and then you realize that you're hooked on even the vocal melody for the verses while the course hasn't even hit yet.
Part of this is because the vocalist has such an awesome style in how he sings.
He bends his notes and holds them out so that just when you think you know where he's going to go, he bends that note up or down to surprise you and give you something special.
This is the kind of thing that hit me because it's the most unique aspect of the track.
The vocals are not only giving you these super memorable and addictive style melodies, but they're also doing it in a fashion that is unique so that they really hook in there.
Really a beautiful approach and the way that he bends those notes so smoothly has a tasteful tonality.
The song does get heavier as I mentioned earlier. It hits a great 90s grunge and heavy rock style that reminds you of underground bands that you grew up loving.
This track in particular gives me Silver Chair vibes, which is something I absolutely adore about it.
But there's a lot more to it. Again, there are these kinds of jazzy elements that blend in with the grunge and alternative rock aspects of it giving this particular atmosphere that you feed into.
The track has a mood and a character that you end up latching on to.
I think it's been quite some time since I've heard a track with this kind of approach and I like how dynamically balanced everything feels as well.
The way the clean guitars go into the heavy guitars but are never super overpowering so that the vocals are buried.
The way the vocals are performed still with a sort of soft subtlety even when things are heavier.
These are just some of the things that you end up picking up on when you listen to the track the first time.
The second time around, you're paying a little more attention to the lyrics. Or at least I was. It's the melodies and the way the guitars of vocals are that hit me hard the first time around.
It might be different for another listener of course.
I loved the overall sense of multiple influences coming into play on this song. You can pick up on a series of classic rock, heavy rock, some garage, some grunge, and so much more, and the way that the instruments and vocals are performed let you know what inspired this project.
Again, this single alone gave off such a thick atmosphere that felt like it was all its own and that's a rare thing these days.
It was refreshing but still familiar. It had color and vivaciousness but wasn't over the top and still had an edgy balance to it.
This was an outstanding track and I'm definitely going to be looking out for more releases from Plaid Forest from here on out.
Check this track out if you're a fan of almost any kind of rock and you won't be let down.
