Rían Delivers A Warm Performance with "We're All Alone"
The latest single from Dublin artist Rian is a beautiful reimagining and rendition of a classic and the subtle contemporary overtones are flowing through the veins of this release with Gorgeous piano performances along with classic saxophone that give the track a warmth along with vocals that feel heartfelt.
The track is "We're All Alone", originally performed by Boz Scaggs and it's something that feels cinematic in a sense and beautifully performed by all parts so that you have a little bit of a different tonality and spin to it, while still remaining true to the original version.
The song has been around for a long time and has been covered by others before, but this one has a different approach and still feels so authentic.
This comes from the vocal performance, especially. It has a passion behind it and somehow feels so personal. Of course, the song is a very personal and quite relatable one to us all in general.
Rian gives this a different life as you get caught up in the lyrics because of those vocal performances.
You can still hear that subtle pop undertone throughout its course, and the additional instrumentation really lets the song soar.
The piano performed by Peter Eads, along with Tony Wright performing saxophone, both bring a gorgeous aesthetic, and there's also an orchestrated section of strings that, as I mentioned earlier, helps with the cinematic backbone, but also gives it that classic vintage style contemporary pop atmosphere.
You also have a harmonica coming into play, adding a different texture to the song, bringing all of these different tones together perfectly.
I think this is part of why this works so well. The tonalities of all the different instruments coming together become a whole, and you get pulled into that atmosphere really easily.
This is a single that, as I mentioned before, has been covered previously by some major artists as well, and serves as quite an endeavor.
Rian managed to pull this off without a hitch and with a charm to boot.
I found this to be very beautifully done and sort of got swept away by its sentiment, performances, and whole soundscape.
Those string sections really add a robust feel, but they're not over the top. Everything is subtly perfected. There is a unique balance throughout this track that makes everything work.
What's most important is that the message of the song still comes through heavy-handedly. This is a song about having a companion in general, but also about the human connection.
Being there for one another. Having a special person who takes the journey of life with you, to an extent.
This is a strong sentiment, and I found it brilliant how Rian was able to add his own approach to the song without straying from that formula too far, but still portraying that warm sentiment of it all.
Covering a song like this is not an easy feat. Making sure the message comes through is such an important aspect, and it's probably what helped drive him to actually cover the song in the first place.
There's definitely a lot about this song that speaks to people. Rian's version pulls through and delivers the inviting tonalities and wholehearted sentiments of the song incredibly well
This one will stick with me for quite some time and will absolutely drive me to listen to more from the artist.
Rian certainly put this together with attention to certain details, but again, never loses the persona or importance of the song's purpose.
This is why it's so connective, and this is why it still had such a beautiful impact.
Most certainly, check this one out as soon as you can, and you can see exactly what I mean.
This is a song that will affect you.
It's a song of a deeper understanding, and with performances like this, you don't want to miss it.
