An Interview With Roc Kartel
We just spoke with Roc Kartel about touring, getting back in the studio, and more!
Hi Roc Kartel! It is great to have you here today!
TSWS: You have been on tour recently! Will you tell us about it?
Roc Kartel: The best decision I made so far in 2021, I decided to plan a street performance tour at several hot spots around the U.S starting on the West Coast. I was eager to perform, and I didn’t want to wait for Venues to tell me when I could perform, so I started to perform on the Streets at high tourist locations as people started coming back outside.
TSWS: What has been the coolest aspect of the tour for you?
Roc Kartel: Being able to touch the people in person, the internet is cool but it’s nothing like on the streets. Handing out merchandise and taking pictures with fans.
TSWS: Any fun stories from the road?
Roc Kartel: Vegas was poppin, I’ll definitely go back again.
TSWS: Is there another song or artist you have been enjoying listening to lately?
Roc Kartel: I’ve been on that “Seeing Green” with Nicki, Drake and Lil Wayne. That song is a breath of fresh air in hip hop. The game has been lacking nowadays.
TSWS: You are back in the studio working on new music, correct?
Roc Kartel: Yep I’m working on my new EP Time is Now 3, and I can’t wait for y’all to hear it.
TSWS: What can we expect from the new work?
Roc Kartel: Growth and a bit of that old Kartel
