A New Album Release From Ryan Wayne
A new album release from Ryan Wayne hits a lush and sweet cinematic tonality that walks a balance between an americana and classic rock crossover filled with a beautiful array of instrumentation that brings the songs to powerful places.
The Crow Amongst the Sparrows album connects in so many ways that the listener finds themselves becoming a part of the record almost and that is so impressionable and so personal that the record ends up leaving a mark.
A lot of it has to do with the way that he puts his words together and how it's a combination of straightforward and metaphoric but altogether you feel like you can relate to a lot of these songs because they all come from genuine places.
That authenticity and genuine approach are really heavy and strong here.
The music is fast and up close at the same time with string sections, and guitars that float through the ether and atmospheres of the songs but also with other instruments that are right on the forefront giving this record of very in-depth tonality.
Upon listening to the whole album it feels like it's a concept record of sorts because the songs do have ways of connecting to each other as well.
A lot of these are stories and the way that they're delivered is so perfectly done in terms of the aesthetic that some of the songs actually feel like you've been listening to them on the radio for decades.
You do have that southern approach to this a lot of the time which is in turn, what gives it that Americana overtone but there's so much more to it than that as well.
You definitely have layers that can be peeled back throughout the course of this record and I think one of the most important things about it is that it's real and it's got lots of heart.
They're certainly a lot of attention to detail across the course of the release but it never loses that soul that birthed the songs in the first place and that's incredibly refreshing.
This is one of those records that serve as a form of escapism. You can get away from your own reality for a chunk of time and dive into Ryan's.
I think that I simply miss records that can do that and to hear it again is very refreshing.
We all miss music that takes you to different places so much that when you come back to your own reality you have to sort of shake it all off.
This was gracefully performed and beautifully pieced together with tons of love for the craft seeping from every single note.
This record is certainly one for the books and Ryan Wayne is one of those artists to keep your eye out for because although this is a massive feeling record I do think there's going to be more to come within the next 5 or 6 months or at least I hope so.
In the meantime we have this so be sure and dive into it when you can and in case I wasn't clear, try and listen to this whole album as opposed to just a few songs throughout it.
There are definitely songs that stand on their own two legs of singles very well but this is meant to be soaked in as a whole.
