The music of Sherise comes in many flavors, but always attaches itself to a heavy-handed pop tone, keeping in mind diggable rhythms and gorgeous instrumentation along with just the right amount of groove, which is definitely a major element in her songwriting.

With her different releases, songs take different shapes. You can hear that she's inspired by different styles of songwriting, and the times, even different eras of it.

"Take Me Away" feels like a disco-inspired single, complete with that dance approach, almost hard-hitting beat, and fast-paced lyrical phrasing that all come together and bring out this colorful brightness.

With songs like these it's also about how she brings together classic and new school songwriting styles, tones, and approaches.

There are so many elements to this track that fit together amazingly. She brings a liveliness to the table with those vocals as well. She's got a vivacious sort of singing voice, and her performance on a lot of her songs has a boisterous sound to it.

There are a lot of singles that breed this type of energy. This is probably my favorite of the bunch, simply because again, it brings this vintage disco style to a current platform and revives it.

While she does this, she stays true to those disco roots and gives you a sound that feels authentic.

You're also going to be dancing away as soon as it starts.

You can tell she's having a great time tracking these songs as well. Perhaps the studio is where she is in her zone.

Expanding more on her soundscapes is a track called "Embrace This Love", which brings out more of an electronic vibe.

It's got some outstanding synthesizers that come into play and a vast undertone that gives it a spaciousness.

It's these kinds of layers and approaches that let you vibe with the track.

The way she layers those vocals is smooth, delivering memorable melodies throughout all of that so that you're able to have it sort of bounce around in your head.

Once again, she's brings an outstanding energy here. The energy of her performances is really what gives it its color. As I mentioned earlier, everything is pop-oriented, and so songs like this one feel incredibly radio-friendly, carry with them plenty of hooks and catchiness, and the danceability factor is through the roof.

She does a lot of the same with another track recently released called "Funk Train".

This one brings a slightly different set of tones to the table, but it works outstandingly.

She still holds that pop attribute really close but gives it a different shape. This is what she's excellent at.

Sherise is the kind of songwriter that doesn't hold a lot back when she's writing. She lets loose, and that aesthetic gives the songs the electric energy they need.

"Funk Train" is insanely fun and incredibly addictive.

You can hear more of that disco element coming through here, and she blends it in with dance pop and more, bringing out loads of additional percussion that thicken the song up and give it even more layers.

Dropping songs since 2018, Sherise has really been able to showcase not just her ability but her love and passion for the craft.

She has a real love for performing, even on record.

Listening to these songs makes you want to see her perform them live. They make you want to feel that energy in a live performance setting because of how she delivers them on record.

You don't come across that kind of thing often so when you do it's actually quite rejuvenating.

That energy is completely infectious and from 2018 to now, she's dropped a series of tracks that all showcase different sides to her influences, artistry, personality, character, and more.

This is an artist that I find quite fun to listen through her whole catalog. This is because then you can hear her evolution as an artist, singer, and songwriter.

Sherise was definitely born to do this. She's born to perform, and give you songs to dance to, sing along with, and memorize.

It's been a while since I've heard such a radio ready kind of artist and one that's also so diverse in what she delivers while still holding on to the elements that make her unique.

I would suggest not only listening to the singles mentioned, but going back through her catalog on Spotify and jamming out with a lot of her other previously released singles.

Not only does she have normal versions of songs, but also acapellas, remixes, and more.

There's loads here so you won't get bored anytime soon.
